What do you wish you had the guts to do but can't because you don't get there enough?

Does that question make sense? I'm wondering what are the things you've heard others say they do, but you feel like you're too "scheduled" or "ride-oriented", etc. to do?

Usually, its the APs or folks who go several times per year that have some great ideas - but I just don't have the guts to miss that oh-so-valuable ride time.

Many of mine are morning-oriented:

Have breakfast in the park
Take the train full loop first thing in the morning
Ride something other than Peter Pan :rolleyes2

Others are just things I feel like I can't "waste" time on:

Tiki Room
Dole Whip (line is always worse than most rides)
Character meals
Shop DTD

Looking forward to your input! This upcoming trip will be our third in three years, so we're starting to feel like we should do more stopping and smelling of roses!

My last day I slowed down from the go, go, go push to do rides and watched shows and visited shops. It was nice to take the time and see the different styles of theatrical performances and do some shopping

Mine is skip an EMH. There are times I'd love to sleep in, but knowing the parks are so empty won't let me! I will say our last few trips we have gotten really good at slowing down and enjoying everything - and that has meant allowing everybody to sleep in one day. Since we do usually do all the early mornings, we have gotten better at sometimes calling it an early night.

We never have breakfast in the park (time and money)
Rarely get a Dole Whip any more, though we LOVE them (why doesn't Disney add a second Dole stand????)
Never go to DTD (time)
Haven't seen Peter Pan in a couple of years (line is too long for DH, who doesn't want to do the ride, anyway)
We do very little shopping (we're old now, so our feet and knees ache. Feel like we have to save all our energy for the rides)
Haven't been to Tom Sawyer Island/Pirates Lair in several years. Nothing there to ride.

If we had the time, money and energy, I'd like to do ALL these things. (Sigh.) Maybe someday.

Go into the tiki waiting area and get your dole from that side. Shorter line. Then eat while watching the singing birds.

One day I'll actually get into Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln. I always see it on my way in and consider it after I get to my other morning must-dos.

Then I promptly forget about it until seeing it again on my way out.

---Breakfast in the park
---More time poking around all the shops, especially Main St.
---Parking myself on a park bench near the castle and just people watch and take in all the sights, sounds, and smells.

See fantasmic. Can't waste an entire day sitting on the road waiting. See a parade. Again can't waste hours sitting and waiting.

We got APs so our next trip won't be limited to a 4 or 5 day hopper. We'll do 5 days, maybe hit the parks in the morning on a Saturday before we head to a concert, and then maybe the next day do a ride or two before we drive home. That said, here's some things I'd like to do this trip or some trips in the future.

Redwood Forest Trail Challenge: seems like it would be fun for the kids and we've always avoided it to do more rides.

Tom Sawyer island: in 7 trips to WDW, we only hit this place once. And that's because we had a 10 night stay where we had 3 full days at the MK. So we felt we could "waste" time on the island instead of rides. Hopefully we'll do the island this time.

Eat at DTD Jazz Kitchen: I never want to leave the parks to eat - probably stems from the bus rides at WDW. But I'd like to try this place as a southern/cajun food lover.

i'd like to spend the whole day on main street usa

funny you say that because I scheduled us for a solid 4 hours on main street this past visit. The natives got restless after about 2 hours. We did take the time to ride the DL railroad all the way around, did Great Moments, stopped in Main Street Cinema, and got some ice cream. I wanted us to ride a few of the main street vehicles, but that will have to wait for next time.

We haven't done the tiki room i may try to do that this time. We wanted to try and do Tom Sawyer island this time too. We take our time but we still get a lot done. We do skip quiet a bit of fantasy land and toon town but this time we will walk though and at least take a look at all it has to offer. We don't do everything in DCA, the boardwalk just doesn't call to us. we might do one or two rides over there but again this time we do want to walk down and look over the whole place like we haven't done before.

If we had time and money I think spending a whole day in each land would be neat. Or at least two lands in a day. Most the time we are running around wanting to make sure we get our favs done more than once and will skip a few the slow down take a look around times.

I love that idea and we got close to it on our trip last week.

Also you have to think, long run, that paradise pier area in the back, right hand section of DCA is ripe for redevelopment at some point.

For us we don't go often, but when we do we go for an extended length of time, usually 2 weeks!:cool1:
People think we are crazy, but we LOVE Disney (well ok, the kids and I LOVE Disney and my hubby just really likes Disney! ,,haha)

Hubby also say every time we go its the last (so far it actually never is!...goes back to he really likes Disney and well the kids and I wear him down :woohoo: ) so we make sure to do, see and ride every single thing. With 2 weeks spent just at DL and DCA we can take our time, so we are some of the lucky few who have had out Disneyland bucket lists all checked off!

Meet more characters. My kids are teens now and not all that interested (although dd was rather taken with Thor on our last visit.) :-)

We usually prioritize rides over characters now and I miss the photos ops with them.

I don't know if I could do two weeks. :)

I can only go so slow...just in my nature to do things at a certain pace.

I think I could probably do 5-6 days at DLR and hit everything and feel like I left no stone unturned.

Maybe because it was my first trip, but I was surprised how much I had to skip with four full days (though, granted, one night was an MHP). And I was by myself and didn't have to go at anyone else's pace. I hit all of the rides in DLP, but I still missed a lot of the DCA rides and shows, all of the big nighttime entertainment, a lot of restaurants and shops, etc.

5-6 days would be better, but I'm still not sure I could do everything...

We are annual pass holders so we go frequently. But one of the things I've been wanting to do is a photo shoot with my girls in the parks. I'm a photographer and love photographing people. I'd love to have them dress up, get there early and take some great photos of them with those wonderful Disney backgrounds. So far, I haven't been able to convince the teenagers to pass up on rides and walk around the park in heels. LOL

LOL, if I went solo, I would never get out of the single rider line on Matterhorn, and miss everything else!
