What do you wish for?

What is the one thing that you wish for in your DVC room that we do not have already?

My wish is for the coat rack/peg hook thing that is on the wall in the BCV studios to be installed in the OKW studios. I remember there being somewhere to put keys/lanyards/visors, etc. in the 1-bedroom side, but nothing for the studio.

Would I want my dues to pay for this, yes, that would not bother me.

I don't remember if there is one in the WLV or BWV or not, but I sure like the one at BCV.

I'm trying to figure out if this is going to open up a nasty can of worms here, but it is only a wish list, so I hope not.

the big screen TV's in the livingroom and every TV have at least a VCR.

We were at HGVC and mother really loved that TV - enough that I got to READ my books - it was great!!!

an ice maker in the freezer part of 1-bedroom up - yes OKW has it - but the other don't - I eat alot of ice and walking to the ice machine is a pain.....

My wish is small-paper napkins in addition to the paper towels. Or have I just been unlucky not to get paper napkins, neither in studios or 1 BRs

I'd love to see the beds replaced with those lovely 'Heavenly' beds the S&D uses, though I wouldn't want the increase in dues it would cost.

I'd settle for some decent size bed pillows instead of those flat mini pillows they have now.

I'd actually appreciate some real dishes in the studios. Thank goodness they have real coffee mugs and glasses....but bowls, plates and actual metal flatware would be nice. Some things are just hard to eat with plastic and if we eat breakfast in the room a lot we tend to run out of bowls and spoons.

Also, perhaps a glass bowl to be used in the microwave for cooking.

i agree. the plastic utensils + paper plates in the Studios are really cheap.
also, the microwave-safe cooking bowl idea makes a lot of sense! after all, there is only a microwave for cooking in the Studio.
i guess a related issue for Studios, is how to keep the non-paper dishes/cups/bowls clean. as i understand it, housekeeping will just run the dishwasher in 1bdrms and 2bdrms to clean the dishes; but they don't have that option in Studios.
i find it really gross how every Studio i have stayed in, the cups/mugs are dirty. i am always rewashing everything before i use it, and it would be nice if that wasn't necessary.

(my other wish is Villas at Animal Kingdom Lodge!!! but i don't think it will ever happen... )

I wish for two queen beds as an option in all DVC resorts. We really, really (did I say REALLY) don't like the sleep sofas, and in our family a good nights rest is a must for a day in the parks. My husband and daughter have bad backs.

ALSO, and this is a far far fetched wish. I know I'll either get flamed or praised, but I would love some sort of parking lot at the MK for DVC members. We always rent a car and find it so much easier to get around. The transportation to MK has always been the worse. Wouldn't it be wonderful to have a lot maybe near the CR for us to park??? I know it is impossible, but you did say a wish!!

I'll agree with Spiceycat that I'd like to see every TV have a VCR/DVD with it.

But no dues increase to put can-can girls in Maistre G's room!!

I think that a park pass discount would be nice.

My guestimate is that there are short of 100,000 DVC members. That is a fraction of a percent of WDW's total park attendence in a year. Offering us a 10 - 25% discount on park tickets would hardly be a speedbump in their revenue stream, and perhaps it would be an additional perk to get more people to buy into DVC vs offsite timeshares. These people will pay maintenence fees for the next 50 years and attend the parks more and buy more merchandise rather than stay by the pools, golf courses, and (whispers) Universal/Sea World etc.

Also, we always end up running out of Soap, TP. They should have a pantry that's kept stocked.

Yuck, sorry to hear you've had dirty glasses in your studios. We've never had that problem, but only had one coffee cup last time. Didn't matter as I'm the only coffee drinker anyway. If there were more permanent dishes in the studios I think it would be reasonable for housekeeping to have a dishwasher in a central location (or to be able to send the dishes out for proper washing....) and just trade out clean ones for dirty ones. I don't know that this would really cost them much more than all the paper goods!

I like when the sofabed is folded up, but unfortunately we need sleeping space for 4. I'd settle for more comfortable sofabeds! Or a thick mattress topper in the closet or something to help. The ones at BCV are comfy, but at BWV they really aren't suitable for an adult to sleep on. It would be nice to have a few 1br's with 2 queen beds in the master bedroom rather than the king. I love the king....but if we had 2 queens there would be some rooms suited to those of us with 3 young children (kids who won't want to sleep in a second bedroom while on vacation) and it wouldn't be necessary to pull out the sofabed for a family of 4 unless that's what they want to do. I don't think the rooms are big enough to do this though...and I can see where it would make booking more difficult for member services...just getting too many categories of rooms.

More and/or larger pillows is a great idea! And honestly, we could use two toilets more than we use 2 sinks in a 1 br. I mean, if someone really needs a sink at the same time as someone else you can share or use the kitchen......with a toilet that's definitely not the case! (don't let your imagination run with that one....yuck!) But we don't have anyone in the family with a fussy hairdo or who puts on makeup....taking up the mirror forever. We'll be in a 2br before that's ever a possibility for us though. (I really hope my dd never gets into all that! But I know she probably will...and if they baby is a girl.....oh, I don't even want to think about them being teenagers!)

And the VCR with every tv is a great idea. But definitely, no dues increase for those can can girls! (I'm guessing that your wife doesn't read here, MG!)
