What do you wear when it's HOT?

I will be going to WDW in June. It's my first time. Everyone always looks so cute and well dressed in the pictures they post. I was just going to wear what I always wear when active and hot...workout shorts and tanks. ;-)

Anyone else do this? I can't imagine wearing anything else outside all day! Well, besides a bikini...but I won't do that in the parks. :p

knee length, strapless sundress and cotton biker shorts underneath. nothing grosser than sitting and sticking to a plastic ride seat.

bring a cardigan for the freezing inside and worst are the Disney busses.. got horrible summer cold from hot to too cold busses.

biker shorts helps if you have thigh rub too..

cant stand jean shorts, I find the waistband just too hot

shorts, sports bra, tshirt. Comfy socks and shoes. Water misting fan. In the "cooler" months, capris instead of shorts, cardigan for layering.

I wear shorts, tee shirt or tank top, usually flip flops, sometimes sneakers.

It was so hot last August my husband wore his bathing suit to the parks. His suits are very neutral and didn't look like a suit. Either way, he didn't care -- he was cool!

We are going in June for the first time. I plan on wearing workout clothes, running shoes during the day and possibly sundresses when heading out for dinner. I am nervous about the heat but so excited!!!!:cool1:

My husband wears board shorts all summer! Quick drying as a bonus.

And don't get my started on underwear in the sweaty months. I'm glad all my workout shorts have liners! Yippee!

I wear capri's and a T shirt. Shoes are either sneakers or flip flops. And I always have a hoodie with me for restaurants and buses. This is how I dress normally most of the year. It does get a bit cold for a few months here in Florida so I do own some jeans. Just don't wear them in summer months.

I would not want my vacation photos to be of me in my workout clothes.

Hmm...

Guess I don't care.

But I also have plenty of tops that can pull double duty as workout tops that are attractive and flattering.

I wear shorts and I alternate between tank tops and t-shirts (to help cut down on sunburnt shoulders). Then it's flip flops or bust in the parks. I wear a hat on occasion, too.

Mine are just plain one color. But I am working out to lose weight. I might get cuter ones when I am thin again. But for now, nope don't want my picture taken in that. ;)

Also, I have a sundress that I might wear to Disney this July. Though I am really hoping that it will be too big before I go. I think wearing a skirt or dress would help with air flow and maybe be cooler.

Yep. Board shorts & shirt, wide brim coolmax net hat, hiking sandals and Bodyglide & sunscreen from head to toe.

I can totally see myself doing a sundress. I have a couple very airy ones that look nice to boot. :-)

Athletic shorts or whatever you like (not cotton) and a WHITE top (again, not cotton). A white hat works good too. Dark colors collect the heat and skin will get hotter than skin covered with a white top given the right material.

It amazes me how many people I see wearing dark colored clothes and cotton in the heat and humidity and then they are hot and complaining how hot it is. White tops and hats at the very least with a good breathable synthetic (moisture wicking) material is the best for staying cool in the summer. The heat there never bothers us when we are there.

I laugh when I see people from northern states coming down there saying it is really hot and they are wearing the worst clothes for the heat.

Great post! I was wondering the same thing.

We are going in August. I'm used to the humidity but I know Orlando in August is going to be brutal. My DH is English and really has no idea what he's getting himself into :)

I am planning on wearing skirts and summer dresses and sandals. I find wearing denim in the hot summer months too uncomfortable. And I HATE wearing clothes toed shoes any time of the year, but especially when it's really hot.

I am also bringing my Buff UV headbands. They're like cute cloth headbands that have UV protection. I like wearing these in the summer as an alternative to having to put sunscreen in my hair.

I like the one idea of biker shorts under the skirts and dresses. I wore leggings last time but that was too hot. But I do want some coverage as some of those rides, the way you have to sit, skirts are really not appropriate! Especially Space Mountain!

You can try running skirts with shorts attached. It eliminates the need for shorts (and underwear in many cases)!

so you know, AKL and the Poly both had really cute sundresses. At AKL I bought a strapless black one with hidden mickey leopard print ( the leopard prints were the hidden mickeys ) and at the poly a pink paisley with hidden mickey. really cool both in look and comfort and cottonish. both were under 40 I think too..
