For years we used our food processor strictly for grating parmesan cheese.
Let's see what else have we used it for?
We used to make mousse with it, a lot. We'd put ice cubes in one at a time to create snow, then add a HMR 70+ (
LINK), a little water or milk, a tablespoon of instant pudding mix, and any additional flavoring. (For example, you could use chocolate instant pudding and add a little instant coffee, for a mocha mousse. Yum!)
We make gazpacho in the food processor sometimes, using it to roughly chop the veggies, and then using it to puree a small part of the veggies to serve as the base for the soup.
I think we're going to work on creating our own hummus this summer.
(Can you tell that we're vegetarians?

)
I do recommend strongly getting a good one. We went through so many so many "bargain" food processors. What you ask a food processor to do is often quite hard work. Especially making bread dough!
This is the one we've had for ages now... and it is absolutely great! (It's a Kitchen Aid.)
We have the matching blender also (you can see it in the back), though ours are in green.

Both are super work-horses; super-strong, super-durable (at least as far as we can tell and feel).
