OK so I've booked the restaurants we fancied and this is what I've got. What do people think? Any recommendations on menu items? We are not on the dining plan!

26th Oct Arrive
27th Oct DBF birthday Yachtsman Steakhouse 8pm - Kool & the Gang are scheduled at F&W in EPCOT so may go there before the meal
28th Oct Mickeys Not So Scarey Halloween - CS meal
29th Oct - 31st Oct We're in Universal so no meals booked but does anyone recommend any down there?
1st Nov 2.20pm Afternoon tea at Grand Floridian
2nd Nov Nothing
3rd Nov 4pm Fantasmic Dinner Package at Hollywood Brown Derby
4th Nov - 6th Nov Nothing
7th Nov 2.20pm Le Cellier - wanted lunch not dinner as don't see the point in paying $5 extra for a steak just to eat at night
8th Nov 7.15pm Artist Point
9th Nov Flying home :headache:

Also do you think it will be easy to get walk-ups at this time of year? I've never been this late in the year except when I was working so not 100% sure

I think walk-ups are becoming difficult to get.....jmo I would wait till I get there and maybe fill in the blanks on the days that you have nothing depending on what your plans are that day.. even on the morning of the day.. I have done that before at guest services at the resorts or in the parks...

Thanks! To be honest that was what I was thinking too because I know I've had problems on previous trips.

They sound great. Go to Jimmy Buffets Margharitaville at Universal City Walk, food is great, music is awesome and the drinks are to die for

Been there once and loved it but didn't eat there. What type of food is it?

Looks like you have a good schedule. Walk ups are getting very hard to get. Sometimes you can get an ADR if you stop in at Guest Relations as soon as you enter the park for later that day.

a fairly causal place - go figure. The food is a mix of American casual, Caribbean with some Cajun. (He grew up in Mobile. His sister has a restaurant in Gulf Shores.) I haven't been to the one in Orlando, but I did frequent the one in Key West a lot. It had a nice, relaxing atmosphere that was a lot of fun.

I think I'd add a few more ADRs. But another thing you could do is wait and see how the crowds are your first few days, then call dining and arrange for a few more ADRs for the end of your stay.

Places that may not be booked up:

Morroco, France, or Mexico in Epcot
bluezoo at Dolphin
Grand Floridian Cafe at GF
Mayan Grill at Coronado Springs
Olivia's at Old Key West
Cape May Clambake at Beach Club
Capt' Jack's at DTD

Thanks all. Def going to add Jimmy Buffetts in. As we're from the UK my DBF's never heard of him but I've been trying to find some songs on the net for him to listen too. I love his music so he's going to have to put up with it lol!

Thanks for this. We wanted to do Morroco and Mexico and my theory was these never seem that busy when I've been there before. The others I haven't looked at but its nice to see which ones tend to be a little quieter.

I think we might go with looking to book on the day. It seems like a good idea to. Thanks again all.
