yeah what about thanksgiving, pilgram outfits, they have the american indian already out.....turkey pumkins, a table for a feast, pie, indian corn, corn stocks, haystack, scarecrows (mickey scarecrow), crows, falling leaves, room dividers that go with the theme, a turkey with a sign saying eat pork, and a pig with a sign say eat beef....LOL just think of the possiblities

now christmas, that is another story, tons of things that can be done with that...LOL

and what about New Years...LOL

snowglobes, now that would be interesting too.

I would tend to think, as halloween is more widely celebrated and accepted by many different groups, that winter holiday decorations in the ol' vmk will be a little more p.c.

Personally, i am not jewish, but i would bet that quite a few vmk'ers are. So, i would think you would also see some hannukah items, perhaps kwanzaa, and they may even go the route many schools have and just go generic to avoid the whole issue.

So its possible you may not see trees, or stars, but simply lights, and presents,. and lots and lots of snowmen lol.

Will be intersting to see how they handle their first holiday season in vmk.

If I saw them sell I working menorah (like THAT would happen!) and a
dreidel, I would love that! Then again, it might be the only time I would
decorate a room with a "Hanukkah Bush". :rotfl2: (I would never do that
in real life, but I really do enjoy WDW holiday stuff, so having Christmas
stuff in VMK would not bother me at all.)

Actually, there is a giant menorah in the osbourne family lights, as well as in several other hotel areas and parks themselves. Also, there are hannukah themed items in and out of the parks in many shops for sale. So yes, they do not have a mickey's hannukah party (rofl), but while they celebrate christmas in a big way, they also make an attempt to appease the larger society, and i would expect THAT to be the case in vmk as well. ;)

Yes, that's one thing I noticed when I've gone to WDW in December.
Sure, you are hit over the head with "Christmas" everywhere, but I've
seen representations of Hanukkah and Kwanzaa, too.

The Storytellers Around the World is a fabulous way to spend time at Epcot.
Since some cultures don't celebrate Christmas primarily, like Japan, China,
and Morocco, they had holiday celebration stories that were quite interesting
and enjoyable to hear. (My favorite was the Japan vendor that sold
Daruma statues. They are meant to be wished upon and bring luck into the
new year.) They had Hanukkah and Kwanzaa storytellers in the US pavilion.

I've seen the Jewish part of the Osborne Lights. It was very cleverly done.
Not that I know anyone who'd put a Star of David in blue lights on their
garage, and a menorah in lights on their windows, but still, nice touch. :)

"Hanukkah Bush". :rotfl2:

OMG a company i worked for a while back had owners who were jewish, and the lobby of the building was really cool, a nice big entrance way and all. So the managers (of which i was not one lol), decided to put a tree on each side (live trees) of the entrance. They decorated one for christmas and the other they decorated in silver and blue balls, lights, ribon with star of david on it all. Well, the owners come out, look at it, and the one just says "you all do know its still a christmas tree right?" :rotfl2:

Anyway, i guess all i was geting at in this thread (and i guess not very well lol), was that in the parks the christmas stuff does overpower everything and is everywhere. I mean you look around and it is clearly a celebration of christmas. BUT they at least make an effort to include people who do not celebrate christmas like we do. I would just be surprised if vmk didnt make the same effort. I was by no means saying they shouldnt have this or that, actually just trying to point out other things they should have. :confused3

I like the idea of decorating for the Holidays like the real parks do. As for items to buy, you all have had terrific ideas. I can't wait. Do you think there will be anything for Thanksgiving? :earsboy:

that is so funny........love the red nose.......hahahaha
If they don't steal that idea, they are crazy!!

Too funny Moussedude :rotfl:

I would like to see them sell a santa hat with mickey ears. We all have one in my family.

I think a reindeer hat and red nose would be an awesome holiday costume! For Thanksgiving.....wait for it.....a Turkey Hat!! The Turkey hat will be like the Seagull hat. The holidays are going to be a lot of fun with Disney.

When VMK dressed up the Main Street, Town Square, Central Plaza and such it got me very excited about what they will do for the holidays. What do you all think they will dress up VMK in for the holidays?
