What do you think the chances are for availability?

Prior to getting out DVC membership, we had booked a trip to WDW for 12/18-12/27, staying at POR.

Now we are DVC members, an I am wondering if you think, in your opinions, if I would be able to book a studio at our home resort of OKW for that time frame? I am still waiting to close, but it should be before the 7 month window (if I base it on day of departure, rather than day of arrival like I have been told).

If I cannot book OKW, should I be put on a waiting list and hope for the best? I still do have ressies at POR, so I could stay there and use my points in the worst case.

Try booking the minute you close. Hang on to the POR reservation just in case you can't get what you want. You may also want to consider another DVC property, like SSR, if you can not get into OKW.

I think your chances will be pretty good in getting something. If nothing is available use the waitlist, and if you have to break up your stay, since Christmas day may be difficult. Best of luck, and hang on to those POR ressies till something turns up.

I always believe in "magic"! You'll get something! We will be there also if the "magic" holds form Dec. 19-24! We have reserved a 1 BR at VWL.
