What Do You Think of Twilight?

I know it's not Disney, but the Twilight Saga is still pretty popular. What do you all think of it? I read the books, and in my opinion, they weren't too impressive. Then I watched the movies and was even less impressed. I do think that they could be pretty good, if the writer had been better or they had gotten acting lessons for the main roles in the movies, but that's too late. I'm hoping Eclipse turns out better, because I know someone is going to drag me to see it haha

I've read a few paragraphs of it and I've seen about 20 minutes of the first film. It's one of the most poorly-written things I've ever read. The movie has horrible acting.
Some people really like it, but it's just not my cup of tea.

the books are your run of the mill teen romance books. i didnt think they were bad, they catered perfectly to their audience.

the movies are awful.

I hate them with a fiery sparkly passion.:furious::

Gawd, if you've ever had to hang out with Edward obsessed girls for a day, you'd know why. Not to mention SM's writing style is like a 12-year old fanfiction writer.

Actually, I read all four and saw the first awful movie. NM I was just like, 'well I'm not wasting money on that....'

i don't like the books or the movies i read the first book and was bored out of my head and the movies almost put me to sleep they are also over publisized(idk if that is how you spell that) and the actors in the movies are terrible

A somewhat good idea that was thought up by someone who couldn't really write that well.

The movies are just plain awful.

they're okay.

I think people who hate twilight are just as or more annoying than people who love twilight.

I can really tell a difference with the first and second movie. The first movie was filmed for hardcore fans of the series. The rest of us were left out. However, the second was filmed quite differently (different directors) and it had a broader reaching audience. I don't think the powers that be were expecting it to be as massive as it was, so they weren't catering to the general public, just the extreme fans with the first movie. It was a mistake, but I don't think it really cost them that much at the box office. It killed the first week. As did the second film. And in about a week, the third one is going to blow everything else this summer out of the water (except maybe Toy Story 3)

Well ... I'm like a Twi-Hard

I love the movies, but I do prefer the books and love the cast especially Kristen and Taylor and of course Rob but mostly coz I'm so happy that someone young and English is very big again in Hollywood!!! oh and the fact I love him :lovestruc :lovestruc

I totally agree with the first film being more for the fans because all of my friends who hadnt read it didnt understand it, so once dvd came out me and besties explained it to them like scene by scene from the book and then they could understand new moon better, but i loved that movie as it was Chris Weitz who directed it and he's amazing and made it very commerical but also kept it true for the twihards... I really hope eclipse is good... theres so much in it i hope they dont miss anything out but David Slade is a good director and i loved his 40 days of night so hoping eclipse has an atmosphere like that to make it more older and darker like the book is :goodvibes

ha and totally agree with the twihards being annoying, loads of my classmates used to get so annoyed with me and my besties always talking about it but then my besties are like that with me and disney so.... :lmao:

Not a fan...Call me when the vampire-craze is over. Its not for me. I like classic Dracula and Wolfman, but all this vampire-werewolf nonsense is getting tired. Its just not my style.

it kind of makes me wonder what the next craze will be. we did witches/wizards and now vampires.

I think the books are perfect for young teens, which like others have already said, the books are catered toward.

The movies are the same. There's really no substance to either the books or the movies, it's just for entertainment.

I'm not a huge fan, but I have read the books and I go to see the movies. They're entertaining. If anything, I get a good laugh at how awful the actors are..haha.

Now..about the whole vampire craze. The only good thing that came out of this craze is TRUE BLOOD <3333333

I completly agree. I liked the series, and I think Stephenie Meyer writes really well. I have to say though, I liked the series more when it was less popular.

Read the books, they got worse as they came out.
Twilight was good.
Movies are okay.

I tolerate it.
But like Shelby said, I get annoyed with people who furiously hate it too.
A friend will tear it to shreds for an hour if you ask her what she thinks about it.
I have to tell her to stop.

her writing is conversational to me. I mean, she's no jane austin, but jane austin is jane austin so stephanie meyer needs to be stephanie meyer.

it annoys me when people complain about how the book is "too easy" or "too simple." many of my favorite books were written for children much younger than the twilight crowd. just because its easy to follow doesn't mean it can't be good.

True Blood...is my obsession.
I'm not a TwiHard, I'm a TrueHard..lol
