I've found flights on Delta in which we like the times however it has a layover in Atlanta up and back for Feb 18th returning on 2-25-05 for $231.00. We prefer non-stop but those are over $615.00. With 10 months to go do you think I should hold out or book now.
Thanks in advance for your help

Shelby,
If you are willing to fly on any airline, I would wait for a while to see what kind of specials come out for that time of year. I know from CA we can usually get a special fare of around $200 R/T if we are willing to change planes and go off hours.
We are also going to WDW for those dates from CA and flying Delta b/c of FF miles. I had to buy one ticket and most of the cheap seats are going fast, especially the ATL to Orlando part. I paid $500.00 for a coach seat so that my husband could fly on the same flights as the rest of us.

I was checking this website: http://www.flyaow.com/classcwt.htm

It shows what class seats are available on any flight. I checked Boston to Orlando and on most of the direct flights most of the seats are sold which is why it is so expensive. The discount fare classes on Delta are L, U & T. They did have a flight for $445.00 that was direct. If you are willing to do a connection there was a flight for $181.00.
Remember that this is President's week and the Daytona 500 so FL is very popular during this time.

I hope this helps.

I see you are also from MA. Have you thought of Jetblue or Song. I fly these out of Logan and I have never paid more than $79 plus tax and they are both Nonstop.

I would wait you have 10 months. I usually start looking at plane fare about 4-5 months out. I am flying out May 25th for $79 each way Jetblue and flying back May 31 for $69 Song. I just waited until I saw a price that was acceptable for Non stop and booked. I find if I book each way separate I get better fares than R/T.

I just checked out Song and they are way overpriced right now just as I thought they would be. Song usually is very high way out like this then comes down as the date draws closer 4-5 months out then goes back up as the plane starts to fill.

Good luck :wizard:

I got tickets on Delta from BOS to TPA for $106 round trip flying out of BOS on 10/14, back on 10/23. We wanted MCO, but for the rate I couldn't resist.

Given that that is President's Week, you may have a hard time getting cheaper (or even comparable) direct flights on any legacy airline.

We are doing the same thing in June. Jetblue had a better Boston-to-Orlando flight than Song, so we are flying Jetblue down and Song had a better Orlando-to-Boston flight home, so we are taking our returning flight with them. All in all, it will cost me $150 per person RT (with the taxes and charges) for great times coming and going (arrive in Orlando at 9:45 AM - leave Orlando at 6:55 PM).

I am as close to Manchester, NH airport as I am to Boston so we are very fortunate in that we usually get great non-stop airfare via Jetblue, Song (Boston) or Southwest (Manchester). We average about $150 per person each time and have paid as low as $115 PP non-stop.

If you like the times of these flights, I would grab them, even with the layover. That's a great price for Pres week vacation from MASS.

We go to FLA 2-3 times a year. We've paid as little as $75 RT to as much as $230 RT (last year Pres Week - down Mon- back the following Tues).

I love SWA for their flexibility, and last year waited patiently for them to release their schedule in hopes of snagging a great fare. When they finally did, there were no discounted fares offered for the Sat-Sun to Sat-Sun travel of Pres Week. We've gone to FLA every Feb for the last 5 of 6 years and Pres week booking (especially those coveted weekend flights) can be very pricely. Definitely check Song and Jet Blue, and maybe do a search on Pres week to look at some of the threads from last year. Keep in mind though, that some thread talking about great Feb fares are from people who fly down at the beginning of the month - when you can get alot cheaper rates

We had a difficult time getting reasonable fares last year for President's Day week. I would be tempted to book them now. However if you have any flexibility with flight times and dates of travel (one day before or after your planned dates), I would think about waiting a bit to see what some of the discounted carriers have.
