I have been using an ergo for almost 3 years
I love it, best carrier ever invented and so comfortable
I use mine for my 32 lb preschooler too. It IMO is the ONLY baby equipment needed
the difference between the ergo and the bjorn
a bjorn is a mom harnes and a baby harnes which are attached together. This puts the weight on moms shoulders and the center of gravity between mom and baby
the ergo baby carrier is attaching the baby to mom. weight is distributed on teh waist (lower back) and middle back the baby is held closer and so the center of gravity stays closer to where moms body is use to it. also baby is in a sitting position rather than hanging by the pelvis which is better for the hips
the difference between the mai teis and an ergo are great. you can pass an ergo to a stranger and they can figure it out in fairly short order while a mei tie is not quite as simple. Dads will put on the ergo without much fuss too. a mei tie forward facing front carry will hang baby by the pelvis
if your concern is all purpose carrier go ergo, if you want easy disney rideability invest in a nice pouch like
www.mykarmababy.com easy on and off, hip carry front carry back carry facing both inward and out in front carry the fact that I can fold it up and stash it in my bag taking up very little room slip it on and off in seconds while loading onto a ride makes it great
