Just wondering what some of you moms thought of the Ergo carrier or any of their products.
Do you feel they are easy to use? Does baby like the cariier etc...
Thanks

I ordered one not too long ago and I absolutely love it! Our little one is not so little.

She's about 25 lbs and 8 months old... the carrier works great, she likes to be carried on my back better than on the front. The way the carrier is made is EXCELLENT... there is no strain on my back at all.
Definitely worth the money.

I used the older style one regularly for my DD from the time she was 1 to over 2 years. It was great and I would recommend it. If you are using it at Disney, note that the child can not turn forward facing on the front. This may not be an issue for you, but you would need the child to be in front if you are going on rides with it. For more info on this and all types of carriers you can go to thebabywearer web-site (sorry cant post URL's yet). I personally use a hug-a-bub wrap for my 4 month old. It is more complicated to put on, but she can face forward on my front with her legs rotated up instead of hanging. If she is awake and facing me she always turns her head as far around as she can.

I don't have the carrier (we have a different one), but I have heard wonderful things about it..

I have the older style and I LOVE it. I never would have made it through my dd cutting her eye teeth at 18 months. She was big and wanted me to carry her all day. Poor thing was so miserable. Thank God I had that carrier. It was great on the plane and going to the beach too. I can't say enough good things about it. We got it when she was 7 or 8 months old, and I am not sure about the infant insert. I am going to get a pouch sling for my next baby... maybe a hotsling or something. I have to go to thebabywearer myself and research. You have to join the site, but it's no big deal. I did get the bag that you can attach, but I only used it once at the beach. I was going to use it as my carry-on when we flew, but it is so deep that things get lost in there. I would rather have to carry an extra bag, but that's just me. The idea was good in theory for us, but we just don't use it.

I just got the carrier last week for my DS. I didn't get the infant insert as he is over 14lbs already. My friend has one for her DD (1) and raves about it. We just tried it out around the house and it's awesome. Much better on my back than the Bjorn was.

Thank You all so much. We are adopting ( she will be around 6 months )and we were looking at the Bjorn but recently started hearing about Ergo. Just seemed better. Wanted to hear what you all thought. Sounds like this may be the one for us. Thanks again :)

the Ergo is a MUCH better deal than the bjorn. All of my babies have been too huge for the bjorn (it was killing my back) by 4 months; I can still carry my 3 year old in the Ergo if I need to. I use it daily (as both a front and back carrier) for my 9 month old...I can't say enough good things about it.

I wanted to add, I did use the bjorn with my dd when she was an newborn. We used it every day for a while there. Then I learned that the position the bjorn puts them in, is not good for their spine. The Ergo puts them in a seated position, which is much better. It does seem like a strange position at first like a bit of a split when they are in the Ergo, but I checked it with a chiropractor and the pediatrician, and they both said it was fine. I also put her legs in that position when seh wasn't in the Ergo, and saw that it was fine.

I've heard great things about them, but I have a Baby Hawk Mei Tai and we love it!

OT- Congratulations on your adoption! I have 2 friends going through the international adoption process right now (China and Russia) and it is so exciting to me! Lots of good wishes to you and your family!

If your babe is going to be 6 mos when you get her, you might consider a mei tai. There are much better for a front carry than the Ergo. The Ergo and other structured carriers (patapum, beco, sutemi pack) are awesome back carriers but not quite as comfy on the front. The mei tai beats them hands down for a front carrier. It also beats the bjorn any day of the week. You can use a mt on the front, back, hip. I have a babyhawk (www.babyhawk.com) like one of the pp and LOVE it. I have also had a Kozy (www.kozycarrier.com) and loved it as well. It's a bit taller than the bh. We used a mt exclusively until my ds was bigger (close to 10 or 12 mos) and I started back carrying him more. Now he is almost 18 mos and I don't use it as often b/c when we walk far I prefer the patapum (similar to Ergo).

I have been using an ergo for almost 3 years

I love it, best carrier ever invented and so comfortable

I use mine for my 32 lb preschooler too. It IMO is the ONLY baby equipment needed

the difference between the ergo and the bjorn

a bjorn is a mom harnes and a baby harnes which are attached together. This puts the weight on moms shoulders and the center of gravity between mom and baby

the ergo baby carrier is attaching the baby to mom. weight is distributed on teh waist (lower back) and middle back the baby is held closer and so the center of gravity stays closer to where moms body is use to it. also baby is in a sitting position rather than hanging by the pelvis which is better for the hips

the difference between the mai teis and an ergo are great. you can pass an ergo to a stranger and they can figure it out in fairly short order while a mei tie is not quite as simple. Dads will put on the ergo without much fuss too. a mei tie forward facing front carry will hang baby by the pelvis

if your concern is all purpose carrier go ergo, if you want easy disney rideability invest in a nice pouch like www.mykarmababy.com easy on and off, hip carry front carry back carry facing both inward and out in front carry the fact that I can fold it up and stash it in my bag taking up very little room slip it on and off in seconds while loading onto a ride makes it great

Another big YES! on the Ergo. I wear it quite frequently with ds2 (14 months and 26 lbs.) I wear him for 2 hours every week when I teach and it is awesome. We did a 3 hour hike in Colorado and it worked wonderful also. I can wear ds1 (3 and 33 lbs) also with no problems.
