I think Sounds Dangerous is funny and I really like the binaural audio effect. I wasn't so sure what all the dislike was about the show, until my trip last October...before Fantasmic was about to start, I suggested to my friend that we "go see 'Drew Carey' one more time". Her response? "Why would I want to go there? You don't even get to 'see' his stupid @** ". So, I guess I'm in definitely in the minority, lol.
Yep, really claustrophobic, for sure, and many small children did get freaked out by the utter blackness. Me, I was freaked out by the extremely small width of the seats (I wasn't all that fluffy when I went to this attraction back in '03, and my weight is in my gut, not my butt.)
I'm very claustrophobic and it really didn't bother me much. DS(7) got a little freaked out when he heard the insects buzzing and thought they were coming after him. I just took his headphones off!
DS doesn't really like dark rides or shows, so we always carry one of those little "glow sticks". I keep it in my fanny pack or in his pocket. Then if he gets scared he can pull it out, put it in his hand and have a little light, without bothering anyone else.
Back on topic, not ever seen Sounds Dangerous, has never appealed. I had thought they had shut it down for some reason, I definitely heard some gossip about it. I'll have to see if I can remember what was being suggested for the space.. I know it gets closed for special events, like the Star Wars weekends.
