Hello,
My boyfriend and I (both 25) are going to Florida in January for the first time as well as our first time abroad together. We go on the 10th and leave the afternoon of the 19th :cloud9:

What do you think of our day plans? We've checked for the lowest crowds at the parks. We are staying offsite and renting a car.

thurs 10th - get to villa about 7:30pm and head to DTD for dinner and to look around.

fri 11th - universal studios

sat 12th - wet n wild (weather dependant)
- gun range
- shopping

sun 13th - universal islands of adventure

mon 14th - hollywood studios
- shopping

tues 15th - magic kingdom

wed 16th - typhoon lagoon (weather dependant)
- shopping
- cirque de soleil

thurs 17th - Epcot

fri 18th - animal kingdom
- shopping

sat 19th - whatever we liked best and wanted to do again
- leave for airport about 4:15pm

Any input welcome.
Thanks,
Kayleigh xx

All looks pretty good, seems you've done some research! My wife and I both love shopping too, there's some good malls at each end of I-drive where we always go for trainers, jeans, tshirts, etc. we usually find that about 10am-2pm is enough time, you may not even need that much if you're driving. We usually get taxis from wdw then the i-ride up and down I-drive. There's some cool places to eat lunch along I-drive too. Have you looked to book any restaurants for dinner? At wdw you can book 6 months in advance. There's some great restaurants in all parks (I prefer Epcot for dining) and all the hotels. They get pretty busy if you don't book so may be worth having a look. I could eat in a different Epcot restaurant every night and be totally happy! If you want any advice on restaurants just ask! I'm very excited for you.... Hope you have an amazing time!!!!!

i think it looks like a lot of shopping , but hey if u like shopping looks great

Haha Bex, yes we are planning on a lot of small shopping trips. Probably to the florida mall, millenia mall, DTD and premium outlets. Little and often and including it with other activities should help not to frighten my boyfriend too much though he does want to shop too.

The gun range will be something he will love too.

thestevied - thanks for the info and i am VERY excited!

My boyfriend is a really fussy eater, though this trip should be pretty perfect for him as he is a hot dog, sausage and burger man. Because of this, we've decided not to make too many reservations.

Arrival day i'm hoping for Earl of Sandwich followed by Ghirardelli's.

I've made a lunch ADR at sci fi on the 14th and want to grab a carrot cake cookie from writer's stop.

On the 15th i would really like to go to Be Our Guest, but i'm not sure whether for lunch or dinner. I am also hoping to book the wishes dessert party, but the schedule isn't ready, so if it isn't running on this day, i'll have to do some park hopping.

On the 16th before Cirque De Soleil i'm not sure whether to book something or just see how we feel.

Thursday 17th i plan to get lunch at Beaches and Cream, so no ADR necessary.

Friday 18th, i really wanted breakfast at tusker house, but it's all booked up, so i missed that one. I'll keep trying to see if any cancellations come up.

Other than these we're planning to eat as and when we're hungry and maybe go to some places like Bob Evans, Texas Roadhouse, maybe TGI's xx

Well for your first time you look like you have everything sussed out. You've really done some research!!

Great looking plan! Well done! If we had put some research into our first trip it might have been a smidgeon better - not that it stopped us wanting to go back!! Mmmm, Earl of Sandwich = deeeeelish! Enjoy! Pity about Tusker House though, be nice if there happened to be a cancellation! Fingers crossed ;)

Just to let you tusker house dates haven't been released yet for January February 2013 I have been checking every days since our 180 day mark.

There is quiet a large thread on here with a few people waiting so you might still get your tusker house reservation.

Oh really? I haven't come across it and just thought they were all released on the 180 day mark. Thankyou so much for this info! You're a star.

Thankyou everyone for your input.

I have been researching, mostly because i'm so excited i can't get enough information, lol. Since i have been on the DIS so much, my info is mostly disney related though ;)

Update, i've added an 8:35 ADR at Crystal Palace on my MK day...just in case :) xx

I was surprised that you haven't been considering how many trips you've had to Disney, but then i remembered just how many restaurants there are, lol.

We went once 22 years ago, so i barely remember anything and my Mum was saying how the food wasn't good at Disney...i told her it's all changed now haha.

A character breakfast, mickey head chocolate waffles and seeing MK practically empty seemed like too good an opportunity to miss! I think i snatched up the last res that morning though at they said it was the only time available xx

You're right, so many restaurants, it's unreal. Think that's exactly why I keep going back!! We're booked to go next september, and I can't wait. Might try crystal palace then. Or Tony's town square. Never eaten there, either! Been to most in Epcot though, that's defo my favourite pace to eat.

I have to admit, i've been very tempted by Le Cellier...i'm a steak kind of girl and i hear their mushroom fillet mignon is incredible xx

Don't think I've ever had a bad steak in Disney. California grill, yachtsmen steakhouse and shulas are where I've had the best steaks. Le cellier and rose and crown were also incredible!

So many options! We went to TGI's in Guildford last weekend and i had the best steak i've ever tasted in my life, so we're thinking we need to go to the one in florida to compare ;) lol xx

Hiya Kaytom

you're plans sound great. We LOVE shopping in Orlando and have paid for extra baggage allowance on the way back:) Just a thought though about your plan..you may find in January that if you go for park opening at US/IOA you might be able to do both parks in one day. US at park opening is always empty and you can normally wizz round it quite quickly..Obviously you may want to take your time etc but it might allow even more shopping time.;) Without a doubt if you do just US on that day you will have plenty of time to do something else later, maybe nip into an evening extra magic hour park..:)

You have indeed done your homework though..10/10 and a gold star:goodvibes

Have a great time, your plans sound wonderful. Good food, great shopping and Disney! perfect!

Good idea.... Not that you need an excuse to try!

Thanks for that info Queen Disney!

I'm expecting to get there for park opening, so this could be a good idea. Either that or we could spend the afternoons chilling out and exploring or yes, more shopping haha.

Thanks RDP, good to know xx
