I live in Philly, we have GREAT restaurants here and we do go (and bring our boys often) to all different types of food. I'm really wondering how the "good" restaurants will compare?
I know we'll be taking a long nap break in the middle of the day (we're staying at CBR) and we're not park-hopping.

Arrival day - thinking of going to DTD - no reservations OK?
Day 2 - AK - Tusker house brekkie
Day 3 - MK - Kona dinner
Day 4 - Epcot - Biergarten dinner
Day 5 - resort day, dinner at Epcot Teppan Edo
Day 6 - MK - Crystal Palace brekkie
Day 7 - DS - dinner at Brown Derby (no fantasmic that day)
Day 8 - free day and then we head home.

I tried to get Le Cellier, Ohana and ANY fantasmic packages and was unable. :sad2:

-I'm wondering about Teppan Edo - we have hibachi here, should we bother?
-Kona Cafe, sounds so good, yet is it as good as Roy's (Hawaiian "chain", we have one in Philly)? I love Roy's
-Brown Derby worth the money? We'll be paying OOP.

Also, can we get food delivered to the resorts? Thai, indian, chinese, etc?

We went in July with our boys, who were 3 and 1 at the time.

Biergarten dinner was great...the boys enjoyed the entertainment and the food, and we loved it all as well. Good choices for picky eaters, as well as excellent German specialties. I am VERY picky when it comes to German food. There is only one German restaurant I will go to in NYC (where we are from) because my grandfather used to take us there all the time when we were kids and it is truly authentic (his mother came from Germany and he was very picky about German food). Biergarten was definitely comparable in quality!

Crystal Palace has excellent character interaction. We went for dinner and the food was excellent also.

Personally, I would not bother with either Japanese or Chinese at Disney. Being that you are from Philly and used to great restaurants and have hibachi there, I would personally skip it. We have very high expectations when it comes to Asian food, and we skip that on vacation.

Kona dinner I am not sure about as I have not tried it. Looks interesting though and I have read good things about it. Ohana is another one worth looking into, but slightly different than Kona. It is all-you-can-eat, they bring the food to you, different courses, and skewers of meat (sounds a little to me like one of those Brazilian BBQ places that brings you the meat on a skewer.). We might try this one next time.

Tusker House breakfast should be fine. I did not go there, but the breakfast food at Disney tends to be good.

Why not check out Chef Mickey's one day? We went there for breakfast one morning and the kids loved it! We loved it too!

When you go to Epcot for a dinner on your resort day, just keep in mind you have to have admission to the park in order to eat at any of their restaurants.

Great idea to take a nap in the afternoon.

Have a great trip!

Thanks for the advice about asian food, I think I will cancel the Teppan Edo.

Anyone ever done delivery from off-site restaurants? I can see us getting tired of the CBR food court...
