We will be traveling to the World on February 13, 2011 for 5 nights with my DW and DD-12, niece 9, and nephew 12. We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside. We have the basic dining plan for all. I have the following dining reservations made. What do you think?

My first thought is that 8:35 is *really* late for us to eat. Is that going to work out okay for your family on the day that you have scheduled for LeCellier?

The second question I have is to wonder when LeCellier flips over to 2TS for dinner. Is it before or after you go? I'd double-check that.

Other than that, I think you have some really great choices.

The only thing I would change is Le Cellier. If it's 2 TS credits and you have that late of a ressie, it's not worth it. We had an 8:30pm ressie when we had our friends with us and their DS8 and the restaurant was running very late, we weren't even seated until after 9pm and the food was not good at all. Just IMHO.

Unless you're dying for a buffet, I'd avoid Chef Mickeys. Really just not that great. I also don't have many good things to say about Le Celier. The cheese soup is ok but does not live up to its hype IMHO and the steaks are considerably better elsewhere from my experience. Considering the number of good options in World Showcase, I'd try elsewhere. I recommend about all of them to varying degrees with the exception of Marakesh.

I think your choices are great!

The only thing I might change is Le Cellier. If you are going to eat that late, I'd get an ADR at the Rose and Crown and have a great viewing location for Illuminations!

You are going to get lots of opinions. Disney is a big place, and there isn't a restaurant that everyone loves. I ate at Ohana for dinner and thought it was terrible. The food wasn't good at all, and I felt rushed through the entire meal. Our favorite meal was dinner at Boma, thought the food was outstanding.

Le Cellier is 1 TS credit until March 1, so OP is fine on credits for that meal. The only issue there will be that you will totally miss Illuminations (not a chance you'll be in and out of there in time with that time meal...which is why it was available.) ...if that was your only chance to see Illum. you might want to skip Le Cellier - it's good, but not good enough to miss Illum. unless you go to Disney all the time and have seen Illum a kazillion times. If you would like to see Illum. though, and you're really wanting a steak that night (assuming you'll be in Epcot that evening) I might suggest you try Captain's Grill over at Yacht Club (you can walk through the International Gateway over by England in Epcot to get to the Epcot resort area, then come back in that way after dinner.) Chances are you could get an earlier dinner reservation there, and they do have steak on the menu--we had two different steaks there last year--pretty good food, great service, and not nearly as crowded as Le Cellier and other Epcot restaurants. And then you can get back to Epcot in time for Illuminations. If seeing Illum. is not high on your priority list, then keep Le Cellier...we love the steak there. Another fun place to eat in Epcot with kids is Biergarten (and being a buffet, can usually find something to please everyone.)

We didn't love Boma dinner at all...lots of "interesting" spices going on there (like the BBQ ribs...aren't really what we'd call BBQ. There were slathered with a sauce that tasted like it was made from Red Hots candy...like sweet & very hot-cinnamon taste. Ugh. But to each his own. Lots of people think Boma is wonderful.

Chef Mickey is great for characters...but the food is just so-so. However, if you want the Fab 5 character pictures, that's the place to go. With an early seating like that at least the food should be hot and fresh.

We really like Crystal Palace (all meals) and again, we enjoyed the characters there. Like Mama Melrose too...although we have had very slow service 2 out of 3 times at Mama Melrose, so be prepared if they're still slow (have seen many reviews saying same thing, so it's apparently how they operate there.) But we really like the food.

I'd change the LeCellier myself. Our DS (10) doesn't do well with late dining, plus you'll miss Illuminations.

I'd try to get something a little earlier at Teppan Edo (the kids love the show, and the food is very good) at Japan, and then you can stay on the front balcony for Illuminations.

I think your choices are great and I would not change a thing. With that being said you will receive many opinions on your time choices. Only you know how early or late your family can/will eat. If you are comfortable with the times than don't change a thing. Have a great time!

I would agree that the 8:35 at LeCellier is quite late, but it was the only time available and we really wanted to eat there as our last experience there was divine. We plan on going to Epcot on Sunday evening the 13th of February mainly to watch Illuminations, so it will be fine that we will not be able to see it that night. We are so excited. My niece and nephew don't even know they are going yet, it is going to be their Christmas present.

Yeah, you know I thought about the spices at Boma and wondered whether it would be a wise choice, but I heard a lot of good things about it, and it will give us a reason to go to Animal Kingdom Lodge to look around. The slow service at Mama Melrose concerns me a little bit though as we need to see Fantasmic that night and it starts at 7 PM. Do you think there is time to eat at Mama Melrose's and still make Fantasmic?
