Loyal followers of Disney know, Disney does not release numbers for hard ticket events. I've even tried to ask the plaid vest CMs and get nothing. The sold out MNSSHP/MVMCP have huge crowds. Even if those events aren't sold out, the park is very crowded. Last year I was attending, what was thought to be, a very low crowd MNSSHP. I thought the park was packed. I would feel better if the wording was very limited tickets available. What is the capacity of Pinocchio's? Maybe these people will hop to another park once they have had breakfast. Here's hoping. Or should I say hopping.;)

We feel like we pay so much for the park tickets as it is and to stay on property to have the "extra magic hours." I think it is enough already but it's just another way Disney can make money! This could have been done so many different ways but to me it's just another "Disney is great but you have to pay more more more." situation. Dessert parties, Christmas and Halloween ticketed events etc etc. They know how to bleed you dry that is for sure. That is how I feel.

The thing is none of these are being forced on you. Frankly I like the options.

How are they going to handle park entry? That is what I'm interested to know. Will they hold off the pre-park open ADRs until the EMM guests are inside? Or will there be just one big mass entrance for all? And this will certainly make early-morning security a cluster.

We used to arrive around 7:15 for a pre-park open ADR at 8:05. Now I'm thinking we need to be outside by 7 a.m. at the absolute latest.

I did send a nice long email to Guests Services today regarding EMM and the fact that it was announced so late and impacts the plans people made six months ago. I'm expecting much, but it never hurts to let them know how you feel.

Who did you send your email to? I want to send one too... I am not happy that they decided to implement this after I had to make my 180 day ADR's - if they want to introduce new things, fine... but it should not interfere with plans that I've made and can't change...

If you have the ADRs you want, how does it interfere? Having an ADR is not a guarantee of being first in line at an attraction. It's not a package.

It's hard to believe it's already sold out for everyday already. Is it possible there is a glitch or are only releasing a certain amount of tickets per day ?
To answer my own question,It must have been a glitch or they are holding back tickets or something. There are times available now.
When I called this morning they said sold out and it has been they same when I checked online several times today.

I agree. You'll still be able to enjoy your ADR and the park that you chose for the day using your FPs. It's not like they are closing the park to you or making you wait till 11 to enter or leave at 5. You'll still have 9-9 (or whatever the hours are that day) to do as much as you want.

A dessert party doesn't really interfere with other guests. If you choose not to pay for them, no big deal.

This though does have a substantial impact on those not choosing to participate. Two more early morning entry days a week are being taken away from regular paying guests (and when I say regular paying - I am talking some people who spend between $700.00-$900.00 for an annual pass!!!).

I am well aware that having an ADR doesn't guarantee me being first in line to an attraction; however, when I planned my park days before my 180 day ADR day, I planned it on a day that was not an EMH day. I always get there at RD to maximize the shorter lines. I do not think it is "fair" for Disney to change this on us now and sell tickets to an event and allow
an undisclosed (but I'm sure not a small amount) of people into the park and make the lines even longer. Sure, I can switch my days, but I can't get my ADR's now.

So now the park I have chosen for the day will either be a busier park than I expected, but at least I can still "enjoy my ADR's" or I can switch my days, but I can't get my ADR's back. My point is, that Disney can do this, but they should have waited until after people did not have to make their plans...

I wonder if they are opening it to more capacity, seeing that it is popular and selling. It means more $ for them.

Oh no! They added more slots! :faint:

Yeah but the Halloween and Christmas Parties do as the park closes early to other guests who haven't purchased the hard ticket. So what's the difference?

I'm also a AP holder and a DVC member and this really doesn't bother me. I like to see options available and if I'm interested and feel any of them are worth it to me, I will book them.

You mean "your" plans, don't you? How and why are they supposed to wait? There is always going to be people making plans. A guest can always avail themselves of a FP.

I'm unlikely to ever be interested in this, but there's an idea that changes my perceived value - a meal voucher! Since this isn't a gourmet meal, or a character experience, the whole value (to me) is in exclusivity and ride advantage. BUT no matter when I eat breakfast in EMM, it cuts into my advantage: eat before 9? Squandering my exclusivity. Eat between 9-10? Squandering early park hours I could had gotten free just by walking in at RD. Getting a voucher to eat a CS meal any time I'm ready? Maybe that's the flexibility I'd need to see more value in this.

I don't *know* what the traffic flow would be around this event, but the "what-if" scenarios I'd have to be playing out if I'm a regular RD person on this morning are:
- I'm using RD to hit 7 dwarfs or PP - EMM have beaten me there and I don't have the short line I anticipated
- I'm using RD strictly as crowd avoidance (this is me) I head to Adventureland while the RD masses swarm to FL. What if the EEM folks are done with FL and are now filling my (previously empty) adventureland? It would be a much smaller scale, but similar to arriving at regular opening on an EMH day.
Yes, I've thought of this too. I'm not worried about the crowd in FL because I'm FPing SDMT and PP. My plan was to hit Splash and BTMRR at RD, but you're right. Will the EMM people have moved onto those by RD? Maybe...

I have to ask, is this another way for Disney to get money to help pay for the new park in China that they are having financial problems with. Because think people, you are getting magically ripped off.

I really like the phrase "magically ripped off"

This is a new kind of magic from Disney, money "magically" disappears from my pocket and my credit card "magically" maxes out :)

Well, of course, I mean my plans.... and all of the other people who made their ADR's and are annoyed too. I am not the only one who is put out by this. I will be using the 3 FP's that I can get... BUT getting to the park at RD was another strategy that I (and plenty of other people) used to beat the crowds. I'm not sure why you are discounting what I am saying. I did my research and had a certain expectation from my planning. That's all.

I seriously considered doing the EMM since it's my son's birthday, but honestly even though I can justify the cost, I just don't want to stop and have the breakfast at the peak RD hour.

Do AP holders get EMH?
