Yeah but the Halloween and Christmas Parties do as the park closes early to other guests who haven't purchased the hard ticket. So what's the difference?

I'm also a AP holder and a DVC member and this really doesn't bother me. I like to see options available and if I'm interested and feel any of them are worth it to me, I will book them.

Well you are right about them being the same as the holiday parties. I find them to be terribly limiting too. In October I had Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat nights available for my trip. Parties were on Thursday and Friday. This really limited my evenings in MK. So these things definitely devalue a regular ticket.

If you can afford it and take advantage of it awesome. But I don't think you can make the argument that it doesn't negatively affect those not participating.

My first reaction to the late night and early morning tickets was meh ... not changing our plans, won't be buying the extra tickets.

But with the advent of the FP+, we have become diehard rope droppers. It is the best way for us to get a good number of rides in and attractions visited.
However, by bringing many more people into the park early, there will potentially be an impact on our ability to follow this plan. Where previously we arrived to short or non-existent standby lines, we may now arrive to longer lines.

And for regular visitors, the more time Disney expects us to stand in lines, the less we will do so. The more difficult/challenging/time consuming they make it to enjoy the park's attractions ... well, I can actually see us looking to spend our time elsewhere. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Do AP holders get EMH?

It doesn't matter what ticket you have, you must be a Disney Hotel Guest to use the EMH perks of the rides. They will scan your MB. So not sure what the answer is because the pay hours are not coinciding with EMH. Not to say down the road they won't impact.

Maybe it's like what someone said earlier in the post? This increase capacity after realizing it's so popular

SO ............ say it sells well, and given most will ride first and eat after ............ will Pinnochios be able to handle this or would they have to move it elsewhere?

I am with you 3smithboys. If I had known this was going on at our 180 day mark of making ADRs or even the 60 day FP+ selections we DEFINITELY would have chosen another day to go to MK. As you said, there is no way we will get the ADRs or FP+ selections we want at this late date.

I just checked, absolutely no ADRs for breakfast at any MK restaurant any other day during our stay! Guess we are stuck.

I finally returned a CM's call to voice my displeasure of Morning/Late offerings at MK.
Pretty sure my comments fell on deaf ears. I left it by saying if the night event impacts our MK plans, I'll be calling her back to tell her manager we cancelled our vacation.

This isn't like Halloween/Xmas when you know those dates well in advance and can plan accordingly. These events were dumped on us who made plans for these vacations months/years ago.

It's just doesn't bother me as I plan accordingly and will do another park on an evening that I wouldn't be doing the party. Besides, I would partake of the parties myself and enjoyed the MVMCP immensely when we did it a couple of years ago. So I can make the argument that it doesn't really negatively affect me.

I'm annoyed, but bottom line is that we are going to DisneyWorld! This trip has been off again on again a few times due to work / school schedules, so I'm grateful to be going. Surely this added event won't make MK as busy as it would be on an EMH day or a holiday.... fingers crossed :)

I'm another one with a BOG breakfast in June on a Tuesday. I don't think I'll keep the reservation. I need to decide whether to try to move MK to another day as we like to do rope drop. We won't know how it affects crowds until the end of the month...I can do FP on 4/12 so I need to decide. I also have a WCC ADR on that day, so I want to do that on a MK day so I can ride the boat over. I could get that one changed to our other MK day, but no BOG available of course.

Honestly? At first my reaction was like everyone else's (majority anyways), "Great, another over priced offering". But the more I think about it, yes, we would definitely do this, and I hope they're still offering it next summer. It's no different, or more expensive than CRT. At CRT you get a meal and a chance to meet several princesses without having to wait in line or use a FP+. With this, you get a meal, and then the chance to ride those three rides (which are pretty big ticket rides) as many times as you want, during the time offering. So you'll definitely get 3 rides, but probably even more. Not to mention the fact that you'll be in the park and have the ability to be in line for other big ticket rides before the main rope drop rush, which the time savings there could get you an extra ride. Plus, those are rides that we would definitely use FP+ on, so it saves us having to do so, so for us, it's the equivalent of getting 3 extra FP+. Which for us, traveling in summer when it's hot and busy is definitely worth while. Plus, we like Pinocchio Village Haus. So yeah, definitely would consider doing it if budget allows.

Read most posts, not all so I apologize if this was already discussed.

It seems so far Extra Morning Magic are Tues/Sat and requires a park admission so I have to believe the parks will be more crowded those days as everyone is going to stick around. Extra Evening Magic (or whatever it is called) seem to be Thursdays and Sundays. Ticket holders will be allowed in at 7pm making the parade/fireworks more crowded and reportedly FP are available from 7pm to official close for special event ticket holders. If the pattern continues only Monday,Wednesday,Friday would be open for regular am/pm EMHs.

So how the heck do you plan around these? We typically avoid EMH parks, but now I have no idea which will be the lesser of two evils. Guess time will tell as the reports come in.

Sorry to all of you that had this thrown on top of your carefully planned days.

Well, of course, I mean my plans.... and all of the other people who made their ADR's and are annoyed too. I am not the only one who is put out by this. I will be using the 3 FP's that I can get... BUT getting to the park at RD was another strategy that I (and plenty of other people) used to beat the crowds. I'm not sure why you are discounting what I am saying. I did my research and had a certain expectation from my planning. That's all.

But with Disney things are always subject to change. Surely you saw that bit of info during your research.

Whatever... This isn't my 1st rodeo.... We've been going to Disney for 15 years... They've never pulled this crap before. You can have your opinion, and I will have mine.... we can leave it at that.

With all due respect if this isn't your first rodeo then you should know that Disney can change things or add things at any time, and that means that someone will always be effected. Maybe you should consider yourself lucky that this is the only time its happened to you while its happened to others instead. You sound very entitled in your posts, thats pretty much my opinion.

Of course anyone that has done any planning knows things can change. This a bit extreme and folks that have planned 180+ days in advance have reasons to be disappointed. Surely you can understand that.

Yes I can understand being disappointed. What I don't understand is the attitude that your vacation is just so important that Disney should never change things during your 180 days. There is a difference, surely you can understand that.
Disney reserves the right to change things as they see fit, and when they do that its going to effect someone. It may be you.
