Careful - the website states, "The number of tickets for these events is limited. In addition, all tickets are non-refundable, non-transferrable and are only valid for admission during the special event date and hours."
Oh great so you cant cancel? I almost booked it for our Saturday to see how it panned out. I'm glad I didnt.

Since we go for 10 full days and have become (tooting our own horns here) pretty darned good at touring the Disney parks, we stopped caring about trying to avoid the parks with EMH. My attitude is the same for this.

To be honest, I've never noticed a significant difference in crowds/waits on EMH days vs. non-EMH days.

I have a question for you, then: It has been beat into my head to avoid EMH. So we RD on non EMH days, and it really works for us (we are very limited visitors, only 3 park days this year and last). This year we are staying on site. I had agreed with others in this thread that this FL EMM will gum up my RD plans. But, I am wondering, should we just do EMH for our MK day? We just really want to ride 7DMT since it was closed all day on our last MK day. Of course, this throws off all my ADRs. But I am just wondering your take on this.

Ive said this before there is a sucker born every minute. Some of the folks who partake may not realize if they simply show up at RD they can do those 3 rides in the same 90 minute time frame and keep the money in their own pockets.
You are right, people can get those 3 rides in during the first 90 minutes after rope drop without paying more. But if they choose to pay the extra fee, just think how many other rides they are going to be able to get done in the first 90 minutes the park is open by having those three out of the way.

I'm not planning on paying for this with my family of 5, but I can certainly understand why some people would.

Someone may have already mentioned this, but as people who rely exclusively on the Disney buses during their trips (which we strangely love, generally speaking), I don't know if I'd be relying on them to go to this event - very short window of protected times on rides - would hate to be late!

It will be interesting to see how this pans out.

Half the people seem to think this is so stupid that no one will pay for it and Disney will end up cancelling the event as a major flop.

The other half seem to think that it will be so insanely popular that it will not be worth it as the crowds will be so big that the rides will have long wait times.

I'm thinking not many resort guest will pay to this so maybe buses won't be crowded and it will make for a quick ride?

A PP booked it and posted the terms in the e-mail stating there's a 1-day cancellation. Disney has the "special event" terms (non-refundable) on the website, but dining terms (cancel within 1-day) in the reservation confirmation e-mail. Not sure which one they're going to hold people to...

As long as it's there! It can be stressful to have a long wait for the bus if you're heading to an ADR. One would think that there wouldn't be delays first thing in the morning, but who knows? I know we've had delays with boarding, and a lot of buses have multiple stops. It would probably be fine, but I think I'd cab it if I was doing it! :car:

Another confusing thing ! Disney get it together

I think the reason for the terms in the email is that you set this up like an ADR reservation. The way you choose it and pay for it, goes along the lines of like the dessert parties and the like. Its not a purchase the way you would normally purchase a ticket. If that makes sense.

There is NO way I would do this. Too expensive for the little you get. Will it never end?
Our last trip was just 5 months ago, and now I pop on DIS to see what new things are going on and it's like "Yikes!". Too much to keep up with! We won't be back for quite some time, and I can't imagine all the prep work I will have to do. I will need the DISboards more than ever!

That would make sense, except that the website says it's a non-refundable special event. IMO, someone likely made a mistake by including the normal ADR terms in the e-mail, when it probably should have had the terms stated on the website.

Also, the Wishes dessert party has a 5-day advance cancellation policy - not exactly like your typical ADRs.

Don't have kids. I am just not an early bird. There will be some who will like the idea of getting in multiple rides on SDMT and will pay just for that, they do have a breakfast thrown in.

Well, this just stinks. I had a BOG pre park opening ADR on June 18 in hopes we could get photos in an almost empty park. Looks like now I will have to deal with the crowds for this event, if there are any. I will keep my ADR for now and I guess hope it is a bust in April and May and they can the idea before June. If it is still scheduled for June 18, then I will switch my plans accordingly.
Since it's being offered for June 18th, I wouldn't think that they would cancel it. I mean, they can do whatever they want, but they're selling tickets for that day right now. I only checked because that's the last day of our trip and I wanted to see which days it would fall while we're there. Fortunately our planned MK day is Wednesday. Saturday is my "flex" day right now, so there was a possibility we would hit MK one more time. But with this event, along with the fact that my kids are really into Star Wars these days, I could see them wanting to do HS one more time instead. So hopefully this won't affect our trip at all.

If your biggest goal is to get pictures on a near-empty Main Street, I think you might still be okay. As I said in a prior post, I can't see how they can sell more than 750 tickets without severely impacting the lines for the three rides. 750 people spread into the MK at opening, along with the pre-park opening ADR folks, should still make for pretty good pictures, in my estimation.

I feel silly for actually considering this. May 17th, our first full park day, is my son's birthday. Magic Kingdom is the park he wants for that day, so there's not switching around days for us. Rope drop was going to be the main strategy for our plan that day and I'm not sure how this event would affect the plan. Can't beat 'em, join 'em?

I also hope this ends before our trip in November. I would not pay that much money for 3 rides, I'll just try and get fastpasses if I want to ride those. My question is this though. Say I have a BOG ADR on one of these days at 8am? They also let you in a little prior to 8 correct? So say we go back and ride a quick ride before our breakfast or even eat real quick and hop over there at 8:30 or something... how do they differentiate us from the people who paid for this special access? I'm not saying we would do this, I don't even plan on eating breakfast at BOG but I just don't understand how they would stop people from doing that.

Happy to see thus far 86% believe this event has no value.

Consider as well the 10-15 minutes you will want to spend eating. You either eat when having exclusive ride time or after the poor have been let through the entrance.
