What do you think about Memory Maker?

I love photography, & on our last trip I took so many photo's. But of all those photo's of my family, I'm not in any of them. So I thought if I add Memory Maker, I could be in a few shots, if I can manage to peel my camera from my eye! :rotfl:
And it would be great for all the extra ride photo's.

For the ride photo's will, I have to provide copyright info to get them printed? Or has anyone experienced any issues with that?

This is an intriguing questions about copyrights. Technically purchasing the digital copy I think gives you rights to print it.

I just booked an AP special that came with a free memory maker package for all digital copies so I guess I will need to figure that out.

I also am a shutterbug at Disney. My party members always know if they find me no longer with the pack chances are I stopped to take a picture. Or ten.

We bought it for our family reunion last month and between all family members (24 total) we ended up with 270 photos! Everyone's photo pass was ultimately linked to my Memory Maker which consolidated all the pictures. They showed up by date and park on line . Every family could access the site. We embellished some pix with frames, logos, etc. Cropped some, zoomed in on others and all in all we ended up with 406 pix- rides, random shots, grandson in Jedi training, groups, individuals - WELL WORTH our $150.

I have uploaded all my pix to Shutterfly and will print those I want. You will need to download to your computer and then to a DVD if you want to take them somewhere for printing, or upload to your preferred developer for printing- there is nothing about copyright on the pix themselves. They are yours to do with as you wish.

The only restriction is you can't use them for commercial use. Anything else, you get all the rights.

For a family of 6, we ended up with almost 300 photos in our Memory Maker account. At $150 to purchase, that's 50 cents a pic. Much better deal than the price Disney wants to charge for a pic without Memory Maker.

I have had to show the copyright release before. We haven't used the memory maker version yet but we used the photo pass CD every trip. Well worth it.

I love taking pictures of my family but I also love to be in them sometimes. I've asked my husband to take a picture with my camera and he has a look of horror like he's going to drop the camera. When we go to disney we always get the memory maker because I can be in the pics with my family :) it's definitely a good deal IMHO.

Funny, sounds like me. There were many times I'd look up and no family in site. I'd scurry to find them. But as long as I didn't bother with the posed shots of the family, they didn't mind. They just let me do what I love.

Thanks everyone! Memory Maker sounds like a great deal! I'm calling to add it to our package.

When I used PhotoPass Plus at DLR, they sent the photo release document too. I've never had to show it when getting them printed printed at Costco.

I used it on my trip last weekend. It was just me, and I was on a mission to get as many character photos as possible. I ended up with about 320 photos, and the Magic Shots alone were about 30 of those. Yes, photographers will use your camera to take shots, but you miss out on those great non-posed candid shots when you and the kids are just interacting with characters and while they're signing stuff. I'm actually planning on doing it again when I go back in October/November, because I'll be there 2 different times far enough apart that the characters should be in their Christmas outfits.

We got 50+ photos just on our first day and we are here for 14 days so definitely worth it for us. Every time we see a photographer we get a photo and a magic shot done. There is always only 1family I front of us so no waiting although it does supposed to be "quiet" here now. Still got to download them so don't know how easy it will be. There are photographers with all the character meet and greets.

I love taking pics, but I would rather not lug my huge camera around. Is the MM worth it?

I haven't done memory maker yet but did photopass for many, many years.

I've never had any problems regarding copyright issues when ordering my prints.

Disney photographers will also take a picture with your camera if you've got it all set up for the picture. The only thing they'll do is adjust the focus if needed.

I bring my own camera and do the Photopass (now Memory Maker) so I can get all the pictures I want and be in some too. LOL

Awesome! Great idea. I called and added it to our package

Now I'm confused, what is Photo Plus? Is it a DVD like MM?

Photopass Plus was before Memory Maker but they sent you a cd with your photos. We used it a DLR the summer they first introduced it. We got character dinging prints, ride photos, and photopass photos all for about $70 pre order. I believe DLR still uses it, but I've been researching WDW so much that I haven't kept up on Disneyland. From what I understand, WDW used it too until they recently switched to calling it Memory Maker so they could skip the cd.
