What do you suggest doing in Nassau?

I will be doing my first ever cruise on the Wish and first ever sailing out of Port Canaveral next year! (I have done one other DCL cruise this year in Europe.)

What would experienced cruisers suggest we should do in Nassau? We don’t care about beaches or Atlantis, and just want to get to know the place and explore since this is our very first time in the Bahamas. Of course, we also had suggestions from some people that we should just stay on board since there will be lots to explore on the Wish (especially when we don’t get to cruise out of Port Canaveral often since we don’t live in the US and therefore won’t get another opportunity to be on the Wish again any time soon).

We just returned from Nassau and did the Dolphin Swim at Blue Lagoon. I did a lot of research beforehand made sure that this was a reputable place that treated the dolphins well. Our entire party of 7, including 3 children had an amazing time. My daughter said it was the best day of her life and the adults said they were blown away by the experience. I highly recommend it! It was only a half day so plenty of time to experience things on the ship as well. They also have a small connected beach and lagoon for swimming which is quite nice as you wait for your shuttle back to the ship.

Dolphin experience or Segway tour are my two favs. Otherwise walk around the area. there's some really nice hotels right along the beach as well.

You didn't mention the make up of your party but my DD24, DH and I did the Bahamian Food Tour. It was the cross between a land tour and a food tasting. We stopped at 5-6 places to eat which included several different foods from entree type foods, ice cream and a stop at a hot sauce place. Between the food stops, we toured the city going to the capital, Graycliff and a few other areas. It was about 3 hours long. Very good reviews. You book on line. Google tru bahamian food tours nassau
