We're think about purchasing the Amex White Glove Adventure Pack ($149 for $250 onboard credit & Palo ressies), but are wondering how you can rack up $250 if you don't take any excursions and plan to bring your own soft drinks, etc. Where else do you spend your $$$?

My family of 3 (DD is 10) seem to have absolutely NO problem racking up the charges! $250 is a drop in the bucket!

The photos that they take on the ship are awesome. These happen to be my family's favorite souvie. The basically run $10 and $20 EACH. The posed family shots are $20.

The spa is a whole other $$ grabber. I love massages (even at home) and the RainForest room is great for DH and me.

If you like to have a mid day, before dinner, and after dinner drink evey day for 7 days you will start adding to your bill. We brought our own and still spent around $100 for 7 days.

The 2 stores on board have some really great stuff that my DD and myself can not seem to resist- even after 3 cruises.

We do buy our DD a card for the game room. She also collects pins. Even though we always stop at the Disney outlets and buy her some to trade- there are always new DCL pins that she gets to add to her collection.

Lets not forget that you can add the tips to your bill. For the recommended amt for 3- cha ching- $217.50!

On the 4 night with tips- we had about $450. On our first 7 night - $600 (inc tips) but on our 2nd 7 night we spent about $850 with tips!

Somehow for a 7 day cruise our bill is always about $1000.00.

I do not drink, so that is not a bar bill and we do not have any children with us.

It is amazing how fast it adds up.

I am going on the cruise next Saturday with the intentions of not spending alot of money this time, as we go again in May.

We will see how that works.

I figured we are wearing the same clothes - formals and stuff as the last time, so I will not need the pictures as we were on the ship in November. Not much of us has changed since then.

And do not forget Bingo - about $20 a pop for each person. A little expensive to play, but so much fun.

Have a great time.

I agree with the others that $250 shouldn't be hard to spend onboard. But remember, if you don't end up accumlating that high of a bill you can always use the credit to pay the tips for your servers and stateroom host/hostess.

on our 7-night cruise a year ago. We did do a couple excursions, the "Under Two Flags" tour on St. Martin which I think was about $23 each, and the Atlantis Submarine excursion on St. Thomas which was $75 each, so there's almost $200 right off the bat. Plus we bought several photos at $10 and $20 each so they racked up too. We didn't discover the "drinks of the day" until a couple days into the cruise, but we spent some on those too. Plus souvenirs (a couple shirts for hubby, a shirt for me, photo album, model of the ship, Christmas ornament, etc.). We are going again next January, so won't need many souvenirs on this trip and will try to limit the photos but I'm sure we'll enjoy more of those "drinks of the day" on the next trip!! :D We didn't charge our tips, we prefer to give them cash in envelopes (had them already done before we went, but did add more $$$ to each envelope as we were so pleased with the service).

How do you buy this adventure pack? It sounds like a good deal. As this will be our first Disney cruise and we will be doing several excursions, I'm sure we will spend $250.00.

Please tell us how to get this Amex White Glove Adventure Pack.
Sounds like a great deal to me....

me too, me too, I want to know about the Amex White glove adventure pack!!

I just checked on this and according to American Express, you must pay your deposit and final payment with your American Express card in order to purchase this package. They did give me this toll-free number though to request detailed information:

1-800-297-2849 (be forewarned that getting through isn't easy)

How does this Amex package work? Do you have to book your cruise using amex or can you purchase this voucher package alone?
Thanks

Thank you johnf for doing the "dirty work" and tracking down the phone number.

Maybe my orginal post should have said, "I'm trying to decide whether I want to go to the trouble of trying to find someone who has a clue about how to get an Amex White Glove......., etc." It seems there are at least 3 flavors of "White Glove" and that confuses a lot of TAs and even some Amex folks. From what I've read there is:

1) Plain wrap "White Gloves" treatment, apparently is available at no charge for anyone who pays for their DC or WDW package with their Amex (details here: http://www.disneyclubs.com/memberships/american_express_white_glove.htm

2) The "White Glove Parks & Ports" Package, which includes the perks in the package above plus the shipboard credit. However, it requires you to purchase a particular cruise package (ca. 4-7) with your Amex card and (I think) through Amex Travel. Details here: http://travel.americanexpress.com/t...bcid=1&vnd=9&page=1&bcr=vnd&sort=0&tpid=11304

3) The "White Glove" thing I was talking about, which apparently can be added to any cruise package for $149, as long as you pay for the whole shebang with your Amex card.

Um, I'm not sure I made that any clearer.

The money goes fast. Are you going on the seven night? Why not splurge a little too, if you have the money. Is there a reason you're not doing an excursion? That's what I would use extra money on. Anyway, I don't think anyone mentioned Castaway Cay - if you want to snorkle, that's at least $25 there, for one person. And floats or water boats etc.

If nothing else, it'll pay for tips.
