Okay, here's the scenario. My DS (21), his DGF (21) and I are going to Orlando (Universal) for five nights in August. My husband passed away recently and we need to do something to try to recuperate from the ordeal. We've done Disney many, many times as a family. We can't do Disney this time because it's too soon and it would just be too sad. However, I would like to have dinner in one of the resort restaurants. I want to choose something we haven't done before.

We've never seen the Wilderness Lodge, so I'm considering Whispering Canyon Cafe. I currently have an ADR at Kona Cafe in the Polynesian. I've read that the food is good at Kona, but the atmosphere isn't all that great. On the other hand, I'm sure the Wilderness Lodge is gorgeous, but what about Whispering Canyon Cafe? Do you think it's a good choice?

Any thoughts or other suggestions would be appreciated. I want to avoid the Animal Kingdom Lodge and the Boardwalk area - too many memories.

Thanks!

So sorry for your loss. WCC is a fun resturant with good food. Kona Cafe has good food. But since your coming off of a bad time I think you should go to WCC. It will help put a smile on your face. In my opinion. :)
Take care
