What Do You Prefer - Soarin or Test Track?

Test Track has a re-rideability that Soarin has lost. The picture quality at Soarin has deteriorated to the point that I am distracted by it. I did ride them each twice this last trip, and that's where my opinion was formed.

I love soarin and my daughter is afraid of test track so I'll have to go with soarin lol. My biggest complaint is it needs refurbishing badly. The screen is in horrible shape.

I love both but since the refurbishment of TT, I would have to chose Soarin. I still cant get into the new design of TT though I do love getting to create your own vehicle.

Since we usually do spontaneous day trips over to Disney, Soarin is normally out of the question as the wait time is just too much and TT we can get way shorter waits so maybe Ive just had TT overload the past year (no complaints though!!! )

I adore Soarin' but it's mostly for the music. And I don't really like Test Track, mostly for the music. LOL, I'm an auditory rider I guess :rotfl:

Personally I get pretty bored with Soarin now. I think I have seen it probably around 6 times. I ride Test Track as often as my kids want to ride it and the lines length permits it. I do prefer the older "dummy" version of the ride to the Tron version.

What was the original version of TT like?

We rode Test Track one time on stand by. The posted wait time said 45 minutes, but it ended up being 30 minutes...and that included the time building your car. So it wasn't bad at all. But I can totally see just going in the single rider. (although my kids loved building their car and then seeing how it performed...but that's mostly my DS as he's competitive :lmao:)

The original version of TT was themed as though you were a crash test dummy of sorts. They put you through various tests, similar to what they would go through when designing/testing a real car. No design element or futuristic theme.

We prefer Test Track as well. We find Soarin to be pretty overrated and not too exciting.

I enjoy both equally, but if I was restricted to only one choice, I'd go with Soarin'.

Soarin' ... haven't done the revised TT but I sure loved the original (my adult DD and DS still talk about World of Motion and Horizons often though)

Hands down, Soarin'

Since I first did it when it opened on the other coast I have been smitten. Love love love it.

I like both, but I would have to go with Soarin and I am looking forward to the new film. I preferred the old Test Track. Even though the ride was largely identical, it made more sense. We use single rider at TT whenever possible because once you've done it once or twice the car design is no thrill.
Finally they r bringing new film in

Soarin' is my favorite even though it is showing its age... I do like Test Track, but much prefer the tech utilization in Carsland than as a mockup trial run. :thumbsup2

I am a TT kind of guy! I love the quick lap around - great quick thrill.

Particularly fun when we went last year and it was drizzling out. Tons of fun, but bad timing to be a person who wears glasses! lol

Test Track is one of my favorite rides, but I love fast thrill ride type stuff. I like Soarin', and think it's a really cool ride, but if it were anywhere other than Epcot it would not have the long waits that it does. Case in point, according to Touring Plans, average wait time for Soarin' yesterday (11/11) was 57 minutes. In DCA, the average wait time yesterday was 30 minutes. The crowd at Epcot was rated. 5, while DCA was rated a 7. I realize this is a tough comparison to make, but the point is Soarin' is not the big attention getter at DCA (at least not any more), because there are other headliner rides to do. In Epcot, Soarin' becomes a headliner by default. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, because to me at least, Epcot is about much more than rides. Still it really does need at least one more "Tier 1" type ride.

Interesting comparison and point. It's a personal opinion, but I have to agree with you. There really aren't many amazing rides at Epcot. Nemo and Turtle Talk are cute for younger ones, but not too exciting for older kids and adults. Spaceship Earth is kind of neat. Can't comment about Mission Space, but there really isn't much else.
Soarin is ok, but to me Test Track is tons of fun. But guess that's a thrill ride for you.

At Disneyland, isn't there just one park?

You don't feel like the quick whip around the track is over so quick that you are a left feeling a little jipped. Soarin' isn't long but I always felt it at least felt like a full ride. I always feel like I should get a couple laps around the TT to be a real ride -lol-

Our family likes them both equally. A perfect day in Epcot as far as I'm concerned would be experiencing all the other attractions once each and experiencing TT and Soarin' 2 or 3 times.

My ds8 favorite ride in all of disney world is test track lol...to the point where he wants me to reserve multiple fast passes for different days out next vacation lol...I figure if I do 1 fast pass and 1 rd that will be enough lol

Test Track even tho I also liked the old version better. Soarin' to me is one of the most over rated attractions at WDW.
