what do you pay in $ per night

On a non-disney vacation, we probably top out at $150. But that depends on where we are going. We are willing to stay somewhat outside a city and take a train in to see the sights when we save $100-200 a night. (that train ride is part of the fun for the kids) We also use Marriott points to stay in a downtown area once in a while.

We don't do much but sleep in our hotel room and we figure "we're not buying the place." We're always on the go on vacation and rarely schedule time to relax at the hotel. We could probably afford to pay more, but we choose to save that money for other things.

At Disney we'll go as high as about $185-200 for a mod.

We rent DVC points. We are staying at the AKL on our upcomming trip for 8 nights and spent around $1200. That's about $150/night. This is for a standard view DVC level.

That's a fab price.
