What do you pay for lawn care?

We live in Georgia and pay $175 per month, but when we lived in Alabama we only paid $80 a week.

We pay $150 a month for weekly service. They mow the front and back lawns (neither is huge), pull weeds, keep trees and bushes trimmed, and blow the pavement clean. Before starting the monthly service, our backyard was an overgrown mess. We paid $700 to have it cleaned up, which involved taking out a dead tree and removing tons of overgrown bushes. Now we pay the same people $150 a month to keep it maintained. At least every other week, the owner comes and does some work himself and makes notes for his workers about areas to concentrate on that week. He's a neighbor of my parents and we've known him for years, so we might be getting special pricing and/or treatment. In any case, we are very happy with his service.

Ours is $45 a visit for .75 acre lot. Mow, edge, blow. sprays for weeds for free, but other fertilizer, pre-emergent type stuff is extra.

Wish I could get that deal. DFW area of Texas, weekly service of mowing and edging only is 120 month, year round. Btw Tree trimming in this area costs a fortune.
edit : Also includes leaf blowing ( mulching or bagged).

since my sons are home for the summer they have taken over the mowing duties. I have a 5 part service with Scotts. It's 40 bucks each treatment. they come out and do a fertilize/weed control treatment over the course of the summer.

We have a huge yard but not to much grass, just out front and around the pool and behind a fence. Everything else has to be weedeated. We have lots of trees too which have dropped several limbs over the winter.

I had a guy comeout to give me a price for a spring clean up for $100.00. I jumped on it! He is also going to weedeat and cut grass for $65.00 each trip, about every other week.

I also have a teenage boy who I call out to do a few things in the yard and I pay him $12.00 an hour. He is a friends son so I do this for him to have a little gas money.

We are in Central KY and pay $25 per cut and trim, with a 1/3 acre lot. We can specify 3 or 4 cuts per mo, so we only pay $75 during the worst of summer and $100 during the spring rains.

We pay $75 per month, with weekly service
. . . lawn mowing
. . . lawn edging
. . . hedge (about 30') trimming

Thanks everyone! I'm was hoping for $150 a month or less and it sounds like in some areas that's realistic. COL isn't the cheapest around here but on the other hand the yards in my subdivision are itty-bitty so that could be why so many around me have it done, because it's so cheap. Next time I see a landscaper in my area I'll jot down the number and get an actual quote, but now I have a better feel for what to expect.

My High Schooler makes $40 a yard. The yards here are 1 acre. He mows and weed wacks (is that even a word?).

We pay $28 per visit ... they mow, do the trim work, and blow the clippings off the driveway and sidewalk each visit. They edge as needed. It takes them about 14 minutes ... it takes me about 1.5 hours for the same job. We pull our own weeds in the landscaping.

Sounds like I am getting a deal by paying my son to mow for $15 per cut for our 1/4 acre lot. Most teenagers around here charge for about $20 per 1/4 acre. So it sounds like a lot of people are getting good deals. On the other hand, if you pay for it year round and then don't use it in the winter or the heat of the summer, then you are probably losing money. Sometimes they do snow removal that way as well.
