What do you pay for aol or msn or other?

For those of you who have NetZero High Speed, is it faster than "regular" dial up? I have regular dial up with a local provider and it's SO slow. I've had it for a couple years. Before that I had AOL. Will never go back to AOL. I didn't like it at all. My local provider is very slow so I have been thinking of switching. I don't want to pay more than $20.00. Thanks!

Our netzero highspeed is much quicker than AOLs regular service. I have never had the basic netzero so I can't compare. It is 14.95 per month and we think that it is well worth it.

I have Verizon DSL $29.99
very happy with it-
FYI- that 14.95 AOL is unlimited as long as you sign a contract

Because of general distaste for Adelphia, I am still doing dial up. I use bluefrog.com and pay $25 for 5 months. I belive when it renews this time, the price is going up to $6.99/mo.

It is a terrific service, "fast" for dial up (and they offer a "high speed version now but i am not sure of the cost) - never any problems, good CS and have yet to recive any spam, marketing from them other than notifications of price changes.

Starting using them 4 years ago I belive, I would NEVER go back to aol again.

We have netzero basic service. It is free I do believe for 10 hours a month. We have to deal with the banner ads but for the amount that we actually use it, you can't be free.

26.95 with Verizion Online DSL.
Comes with MSN8 (or more recent version, Firewall and Virus Scan)

Normal rate is either 34.00 or 29.00 but if you get the "works" package on the phone line you get it discounted.

I hope to never go back to dial up. Way to slow.

Customer Service is a little slow sometimes and they like to blame the computer builder or router company if I have a problem, but I can live with it for now.

$49.99 for Cablevision cable modem.

AOL is losing a lot of subscribers. Heavy users are switching to broadband and light users are switching to the cheaper services.

How do you get free internet?? how do you get it free?? Is it a dial-up?? is it a local thing or is it everywhere?

Hi

We have AOL, since 97, never gave us any deals, but I like AOL.
We pay by the year, it's around 240.00 savings of about 2. something a month, no big savings, but I do like aol, tried others, not the same...
I called AOL, they wouldn't give me the 14.95 a month! You are very lucky, I called several times and even talked to a mgr...
how did you get it?
They said only a certain select few were emailed an email with codes, again...your lucky and enjoy it!

I saw that AOL thing for 14.95 on a site and that's why I called, since we've been customers for years and we were denied, just wasnt' our day... guess!

any suggestions?
Since, it's paid until Feb 05...:earsgirl:

If you cancel AOL they will send you all kinds of offers to get you back. They offered us 3 mths free and other offers that I really didn't pay attention to because AOL didn't work well for us.

We have DSL through Verizon for $29.95 a month. I could never go back to Dial Up after having DSL! :) It is paid with our phone bill each month.

I guess I am on the expensive side with cable service at $45.95 a month but I don't think I could ever go back to dialup.

Ours is $42.95 plus the modem rental. I'm seriously considering losing the cable internet for awhile as it's half of our cable bill and I'll really stretching to pay for with DH's recent pay-cut. It will be hard to go back to dial-up, but it will also limit our time online, and now that spring/summer is here we have more to occupy our time anyway.

We used to use EarthLink dialup, about $19.95/month direct-debit from checking account. It's probably $21.95 now. The only time we ever had a problem was after we canceled. EL debited DH's checking account at least twice and he was never able to recover the fees.
