The proximity to the parks? We don't love EPCOT and walking to MGM isn't a huge sell for us because we do like to rent a car to go offsite for groceries, dinner, shopping, etc.

Do you think BWV is better for older kids or adults without kids? It is hard to project down the line with one three-year old now and 37 more years of points. I want to add on but am really struggling with where to go...

what we love about BWV is all the dining options within walking distance. a huge plus in our book!

Lots of evening activity! Let's see, there's ESPN Zone, Jellyrolls, Atlantic Dance, carnival games, street performers...then there are the restaurants: Flying Fish being a favorite, but you are also a close walk to Spoodles, bluezoo, Beaches & Cream, etc...and the view from your Boardwalk View balcony is unforgettable!

We had our first BWV stay in December. There was activity in and around the BW area. There were guest choirs, vocal and instrumental, featured in the grassy area just by the boardwalk entrance. These were very good, and you didn't have to go far to enjoy them.

I understand they put on a great party for Halloween, and the community hall is a hit with kids.

We're empty nesters, the youngest in our group was 21, and we all had a great time. It's not the only place that I would ever want to stay, but we enjoyed it very much. The standard points are truly what sold us on buying there. They were selling BWV, BCV and VB (all limited use years) when we were buying. If it weren't for the standard points for the 2 bedroom and the 4 studios we needed for our GG, we couldn't have done it!

I imagine our 3 Dgrandchildren and parents will have a ball there.

We're a 30s couple with no kids and points at BWV. We always rent a car on our Disney trips. We usually take the boats to MGM or Epcot, and drive to the other parks (taking advantage of the free parking for DVC resort guests). I *love* the BW Bakery for breakfast, and get a pastry almost every day. We both love being able to walk or short-ride into Epcot for all sorts of dinner options. We usually enjoy a Beaches and Cream lunch across the pond at least once each trip. Also, BWV is a free-valet-parking resort, so no reason to worry about walking to get the car.

We also love all the options that are available within walking distance. We always rent a car and drive almost everywhere, but it is more of the feeling that you are in the heart of alot of action. We love the dining options, and just being able to go for a stroll in the evening to just look around with no destination in particular...just so much to see!

There are lots of options for both children and adults. Its a great place to stay!!

It has an atmosphere that can't be described. I'll try... It is has luxury, charm, ambiance. It is really a magical place. The waterfront, ships horns, smells, street performers are unbeatable!!

HORRORS....how can you not love EPCOT???? :teeth: :teeth:

We own at BWV and the walk to both Epcot and MGM is one of our favorite perks. The evening entertainment is great just to wander around. They have some great restaurants. My kids love the pool and community hall.

I know, I thought saying I didn't love EPCOT may generate a response...I am not sure why dh and I don't love it...maybe it is because as a kid I was always bored there. We didn't go for 5 years even though we went on about 4 trips during that time. We did just go to EPCOT in April and I have to say I liked it better after having a break from it. I guess I feel like Future World is so outdated and then the countries are so spread out and sometimes I feel like mostly all there is to do is eat or look in shops...I think we will probably go about every 3 years and then I will like it. If nothing else our meal at the Japanese Steakhouse was absolutely amazing so we would go back for dinner!!!!! :rotfl:

What we enjoy-

Walking distance to 2 parks, or boat transportation to those parks, which we find much more pleasant than busses.

Bakery in the morning, ice cream in the evening.

Lots of dining options.

ESPN Club.

Walking distance to the Y&B and S/D and their dining options.

The Bellevue Room is a very nice lounge area.

People watching, especially in the evening with the music coming from the dance club.

Well, that's what works for us...

Do you think BWV is better for older kids or adults without kids?
I think it offers more for those groups. But I don't think it does it at the expense of families with younger children. There are still daytime activities for kids, and the evening atmosphere is still a Disney atmosphere.

Two reasons-
1) Bellevue Room- Tim and Allen are the best and most knowledgable bartenders in all of Disney World. Great selection and great atmosphere for a late night cocktail.

2) The Flyin' Fish- Ask for Frankie. Bar none the finest waiter in Disney World. He's been there since day one and is attentive. He also is a fabulous person.

Ditto to all of the above posts. We also like being able to see Spaceship Earth, parts of WS or the TOT from our villa.
We have little kids and they like BWV a lot there are tons of stuff to amuse any age.

Can't beat the view. Best available of any DVC resorts.

Want to save points, then book standard. Great option to have. I've done BWV and will be doing standard room to save points.

Well we do love Epcot so that is a draw for us, but in addition to that we love:

  • The whole Boardwalk area - so many options for dining
  • Short walk over to mini-golf
  • Great views
  • A fun main pool and a nice quiet pool
  • Community Hall
Most of all I love the decorating of the Boardwalk rooms. Suits us just fine. We also love OKW and BCV, but found VWL just didn't suit us at all.

We love being part of the WDW scene without even being at parks. This was especially true when DH had knee trouble--he just sat on the balcony and absorbed the BW activity. The illuminated Spaceship Earth and the Friendship boat horns in the early morning are my favorite parts of BW view.

We love everything about the Boardwalk. I like the shortwalk to the parks, the restaurants and all the activity at night. We walk over to see Illuminations at night.

Funny thing is we did an add on at BCV for the grandkids to have SAB. Turns out they enjoy the Boardwalk more. I think they went over just about every evening. They are now 7, 13 and 15. We've been taking them for the past 5 years. They liked it at that age and still do.
