I'm staying there in 91 days, with a nurse's rate. No rooms were available at the Dolphin for my stay for that rate.

Tell me what you like about the Swan, and what you see as the drawbacks.

Lucy, I stayed at the Dolphin 4 times before trying the Swan in April, and I liked the Swan very much.

SWAN

1. The bus picks-up and drops-off at the Swan before the Dolphin
2. The Swan has 2 queen beds vs. 2 doubles at the Dolphin
3. The Swan has 2 bathroom sinks (one inside/one outside the bathroom) - which is very helpful with more than one person in the room
4. The Swan is closer to the Boardwalk, for all those nights you drag your body back after hours at Jellyrolls! ;)
5. The Swan is half the size of the Dolphin - so it's less of a hike to your room

DOLPHIN

1. The Dolphin has a lobby that makes you say, "WOW!"
2. The laundromat/game room/Tubbi's Buffeteria are at the Dolphin
3. The pools are a bit closer to the Dolphin
4. The Dolphin is more kid-appealing - IMHO (probably doesn't matter to you!)
5. The best views are from the Dolphin

There - do you feel better about staying at the Swan?

I stayed at the Swan last December. I thought it was a fantastic resort ... and I really hated the Dolphin's lobby ;). Too "circus" for me.

Here are my photos:

There isn't anything I don't like about the Swan, in fact I like the bathroom set-up better at the Swan, but I love the Dolphin more!

I think you'll enjoy the Swan Bonnie, it's a beautiful resort!

The only drawback is the fact that Tubbi's and the Dolphin Fountain is across the courtyard at the Dolphin. It's not a biggy, but I like simply riding the elevator/escalator downstairs, and staying "in house!"

We just returned from our first stay at the Swan and I LOVED it. I liked how small and intimate the lobby was, although some people think it's not as child-appealing. My kids, frankly, don't notice hotel lobbies. I liked it because when you walk in from the back, there's player piano and a cozy bar, that make it so welcoming. Then you don't have a long hike to your room (which we did at BC) The colors of the decor are so pretty. And although we had a standard view (teacher rate) we had a really nice view from our window. We could see Illuminations off to the left and MGM to the right and the lagoon in the middle. You'll really love the Swan!

We are on the way to the Swan also. I hear so much about the Dolphin so I am enjoying this thread and the pics!!!

I CAN'T WAIT TO GET THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:bounce: :bounce: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :smooth: :smooth:

Thank you! I hear so much about the Dolphin, and little about the Swan, and I felt a little cheated. But the pictures are beautiful, robin, thank you. Nothing wrong with a little cozier or smaller, and I certainly like being first on the bus ;) .

Ditto what everyone else has said! While I love both the Swan and the Dolphin (and rarely stay anywhere else), I have to admit to a particular fondness for the Swan.
As others have already said, the smaller, more intimate size of the Swan is so special....the CMs begin to recogonize you as you walk through and call you by name....it's a joy to have that shorter walk to your room after a long day in the parks....or after that grocery shopping! (Those Cokes get heavy!)
The 2nd sink/vanity area is a huge timesaver in the morning when everyone is rushing about trying to get dressed...
Being first on/off the bus on those shared rides is nice (esp in the evening when the bus is standing room only and your legs are soooo tired....).
We were there just three weeks ago and I want to go back....how I envy your getting ready to go now....

Have a great trip!

The two queen sized beds vs the two double beds. The bridge over to the Boardwalk is a bit closer to the Swan than the Dolphin. You can walk a little less far to get to Disney Studios.

I stayed at the Swan at the begining of April. I wouldn't say it was a bad place to stay but it was way too "Plain Jane" for me. It is pretty much just a regular deluxe hotel. If you want Disney Theming, I wouldn't recommend it. It isn't Disney themed because it is owned by Starwood Properties. They own Sheraton (Dolphin) and Westin (Swan). Thhe pool there is awesome!!!
