What do you Hate Most about Going to the Doctor's

I hate it when hey have no personality. That is a must plus a sence of humor that way I feel easy about going each time. I usuaully go by the first impression, if I don't like him I move on:D

Actually picking up the phone and making the appointment.
I'm not good at that...big procrastinator here.

Being poked and proded and asked a bunch of questions. I'm really shy.

The wait. It never fails I'm thereon time and the doctors is always running at least an hour behind schedule.

Having to come back. I hate when they say "we'll refer you to..." or "come back next week.."

I just want it all done at once!!

Everything. I hate waiting, I hate the fear of finding out I have something awful (that's happened to me a couple times so I have a reason to), I hate when the only magazines in the waiting area are Sports Illustrated and Time, I hate the grumpy nurses and the grumpy, hurried doctors that don't listen completely, I hate paying the bill and one of my biggest gripes is at the neurologists - I hate those "dummy tests" they give me. Put all the pegs back in the holes as fast as you can with one hand, walk down the hallway, jump on one foot, etc. - I feel like a trained monkey. Very demeaning.

Oh, one more - this I REALLY hate. I have a rare eye disorder that seems to completely fascinate eye doctors and their staff. Everyone has to come in and gawk at my eye, all the while I'm worried about going totally blind. I am NOT anyone's guinea pig, thank you.

I hate when the doctor rushes through and I have to say "Wait! I have some questions!"

AND,

I hate when all they have to read are PARENTS Magazine or children's magazine. Sometimes I feel like I'm in a pediatrician's office.

THE SCALE

And him reminding me that I need to lose weight. I know that!

THE SCALE

I remember reading an article that stated the SCALE as the single biggest reason women do NOT go to doctors!! LOL!! I tend to agree!

The waiting. I waited an hour for a recheck with a surgeon. He came in, spent maybe 2 min. looking at my scar, said "you're healing nice", had his hand on the door to leave when I had to stop him to ask a question. Fastest answer he could give and then he was gone.

There is one doctor (my chemo doctor) who is absolutely wonderful! I always have to wait, but that's because she spends so much time with her patients, never rushes you, takes her time to explain everything, even provides some moral support when I need it. She's fantastic!

EVERYTHING!!

Calling to make the apointment, taking time to go, waiting in the reception room, The scale , waiting in the exam room, .....the only good thing is leaving and knowing it's over ;)

AND, did you ever notice how when you gain weight they mention it, but when you LOSE weight, they skip right over that! One year I lost 35 lbs and they didn't say a thing.

Let me tell you, I brought THAT to their attention! ;)

Well....I have this really cute doctor, won't tell you which kind, but you can guess ;) but I hate it that I have to take my clothes off & he doesn't!  :teeth: :teeth: ;)

OMG! I hope my DH doesn't read this!

I'm just kidding!!

Making the call (thanks for reminding me Wishy :) ), getting on the scale, and hoping that I won't hear that I have something seriously wrong.

It's so hard.

And even when I know that I should have no trouble, like when I visit my neurologist - I STILL hate it. Because maybe he DOES will see trouble. (Probably not, but I am always fearful. :( )
