What do you find worthwile at Costco?

We LOVE the flank steak marinated in lime and cilantro (had that last night)

Ooooh, that is SO good isn't it? And a great price! I also LOVE the greek chicken and pasta salad. And I second another poster's comment on gas. That is our fill-up station cuz it's the cheapest in town.

The bread is always buy one get one free. We eat a lot of bread at our house, so that's a good deal for us. Freeze one or give it to family/friend if you cannot use two loaves.

My kids do love those Mickey shaped chicken nuggets.

And, we love to go on the weekends for the samples, yum!!!

Yes! The Amex is great. We do the executive membership so we get 2% back on purchases from Costco and also a percentage back on all purchases made with the Amex. So it's a bit like double dipping and more than pays for our membership.

They send you the rebates in the form of a Costco gift certificate, but you don't have to spend the entire amount. You can take it to the membership desk and get cash back.

The very best thing at Costco is the huge ice cream bar that they dip in chocolate and almonds at the snack bar. They are so decadent but I found out they have over 800 calories, so we always split one. I also get the Laughing Cow Cheese 4 pack, and the smoked salmon. My teenage son just loves the Roasted Garlic Bread, Cheesy Jalapeno Bread, and their brand potato chips that are really thick cut. Also, new this time, they had stuffed Portabello mushrooms with seafood stuffing, and they were very good. They were in the prepared food section and were 5.99 lb. I am getting hungry just thinking about Costco. I WANT AN ICE CREAM BAR!!

We love Costco. Things we buy:

Dishwasher tabs (just got a BOGO 100+ tabs per container, for less than $12)
Garbage Bags (Kirkland brand...excellent).
Kirkland brand detergent (the BIG box of powder...works great, lasts forever).
Towels
Knock off uggs in the winter
DH's leather sneakers ($14.00). Last a long time! Comfortable.
Sweat socks...the kirkland brand is amazing...really high quality.
Coffee. Can't beat the prices anywhere.
Milk
Butter
Broccoli (frozen)
TIRES (three cars means we need one new set a year, and the savings here more than pays for membership).
Electronics, except for computers (I do not find their computer prices to be all that great), but on TVs they are wonderful.
Video games (if latest and greatest is your thing, the best price is here).
Small kitchen appliances
Swimsuits for the kids
Goggles for the kids
Spices of all sorts
Gosh, this list is really long. LOL! Seriously, I spend 1/2 my shopping dollars there, at least. I love the store and it's whole approach to doing business.

The best deals on things we buy regularly would be

Shredded Cheese (5Lb bag for about 20% more than a 2Lb bag from local grocery store or SuperTarget)
Dog Food
Snacky stuff (nuts, fruit snacks, etc.) when we're having people or kids over.
Milk - Not much cheaper, but I like the square container shape and large opening for making ice and use in coolers/camping the hand opening could be a smidge larger though.

They don't - our does have a store attached, but it's not Costco (but they have great prices).

The shrimp salad is outstanding and it is cheap. The tuna is excellent and it is a 7 oz can. Remember when Chicken of the sea was 7 oz? Now it is 5. I like the turkey burgers, they didn't carry them at Sams. And the rotisserie chicken is a great deal. The other thing I always get is the pork tenderloin 2 pack. It is $2.99 a pound, a great deal.

The cakes are really good!

And we special ordered our roses for our wedding from Costco, several dozen of the most gorgeous roses ever, in hand tied bouqets.

Also - the chicken pot pie!! Even Oprah loves it. Yum.

I think the Costco in Wayne NJ sells wine. I'm not sure the prices are better than what you can get elsewhere.

Many things are great in Costco. It may be easier just to list the things people have found disappointing.

I do not reccommend the fried zucchini sticks. They didn't taste very good.

drinks. drinks and more drinks!! We keep our fridge stocked all summer with gatorade and vitamin waters as well as an occasional case of blood orange bottled water for mom!! I buy my ibuprofen there- the Kirkland gels are a great deal! Snaks for the kiddos who are here playing hoops, video games or whatever. I don't feel so bad providing a snack everyday if they are cheaper.
