What do you do..

with those pins that are musical/lite-up that you can't change the batteries on? Once the built-in battery dies.. do you throw it away? trade it to someone who doesn't care?

Heh. Well it wasn't intentional. It was mailed to me and in route the battery apparently ran down. I got it and it made a "whine" and died. Took it to WDW with me and it just isn't one that can be replaced. So..

Have you tried a jewelry store? Most of the pins we have like you described can have the battery changed. It isn't really obvious & is quite small.

No, just checked the watch store and Expo Hall at WDW and both said the same that it couldn't be changed. You can SEE the battery through a hole in the case, it just doesn't appear that the case can be opened without either breaking it or the pin.
