What do you do with your leftover Easter Chocolate?

I have two giant chocolate Easter bunnies sitting on my kitchen counter. Anyone have any ideas of what I can do with these, other than just eating them! I thought maybe making smores or chopping some up and putting in pancakes. Any other fun ideas?

Send them to the troops. My DS came home with a flyer from school that they are collecting unopen candy to send overseas. I think that is a great idea.

Melt some pieces in the microwave with a bit of butter (to keep it creamy else it tends to harden and get crumbly) then dip bananas, strawberries, pretzels or anything that you think would taste good covered in chocolate. But seriously, what doesn't taste good covered in chocolate? :rotfl:

I am thinking chocolate dipped strawberries too! They are just peaking here and yummy!

I would use it in some sort of cooking medium. The sending it to the troops idea is a great one but only if its candy that will not melt. They generally don't accept things that melt b/c it gets so hot and then becomes a mess :(

we also just toss it out, bc thats better than them eating it IMO

chocolate chunk cookies
chop and put in banana nut bread
I have a delicious recipe for chocolate chip cheeseball...eat with graham crackers
I'd do a quick search for chocolate chip recipes

I think it's great that you are trying to use it rather than pitch it (although I'm not critical of those who do...I would have in the not too distant past). Our grandparents would have used every bit of it. We're more of a throw away society.

Okay, off my soapbox now...sorry.

I throw mine in the freezer to save it

Veggie pealer + solid chocolate = pretty chocolate curls :thumbsup2

Take a box cake to the next level and chop up the bunnies and add it to the cake. Really craving chocolate, add it to brownines. Make "candy" cookies by chopping up all sorts of differant candy and using it in a basic cookie recipe.

I have never heard of leftover chocolate. What exactly is that? :lmao:

Sorry, I couldn't resist. I really don't have any ideas. I guess you could use it for dipping things like strawberries or pretzels.

I put it all in a ziploc and through it in the fridge. We do enjoy a piece here and there.

I did like the idea of making choc chip cookies with the leftovers....

Is it good chocolate like Lindt or junky stuff like Palmer? If it's the good stuff I'd freeze in to use later. The junky stuff would go in the trash since IMO it isn't worth the calories.

I got tired of seeing the bunnies and peeps on the counter so I threw them all in the freezer and figured we would have some bunny and chick s'mores this summer.
