What do you do with kids while in line?

If the lines aren't moving very quickly, we put adults in front of and in back of the kids so they can run around between us. Nothing like letting them run around to wear 'em down. :thumbsup2

Sounds good as long as I can hold firm lol My kids are little brusers:rotfl: This technique could be implemented while playing that "bubble bubble pop" game PP! Would I be a terrible parent if I was considering having a stash of jelly beans In case of emergency?:rolleyes1 These have all be fantasic ideas THANKS EVERYONE!

I just let them ride other rides with 4-6 other family members and then text them to come join me right before I get onto the ride :rolleyes1

Sorry, bad joke from another thread!

We carry around some of those coloring books that use the special clear marker. They also like playing around with the digital camera or Nintendo DS. A big hit is to let them alternate in line (with guidance from me) looking at the map and picking what we get to do next. Honestly, I have not been in too many lines where they got too tired or unruly because they are usually talking about what we have done or are going to do. It sure is good to have "something" though when that one bad line or two in a day comes around.

My mom used Jolly Ranchers on my sister and I when we were younger, actually, she still does. :rotfl2:

Luckily my kids don't ask to play our phones and it somewhat annoys me when I see kids glued to devices as they hold the lines up by not paying attention. Nothing wrong with it as long as it doesn't consume you but for many people it completely consumes them:confused3. Enjoy the environment and think back to when you were kids and had to wait for things. Arcade Fire says it best in the song "we used to wait"......not to be "that guy" but it is something to at least think about....Your at Disneyland....don't ignore it.....

Last trip, before our vacation, I downloaded a bunch of Disney movies onto my iphone. It was a great distraction in line for TSM (yes, we waited in line for over an hour). Generally they just like to play games on the phone, or my little guy thought it was funny to text me silly stuff from the lines at DL last year. It is amazing what that kid could spell at 8 years old. LOL

:rotfl: I caught it at the last minute! At first I was thinking, no way, it's one of "them"

The little bubbles used at a lot of weddings were a hit with my kids when they were 4 and 5. They were inexpensive and easy to pack. The boys were so amused--and so were the others around them :).
