What do you do with a booked trip and no other avail

I have a week + in the BC reserved 11 months ago.. Well.. I was asked if I could move it, and points I have to use by end of Oct, so I said sure I would try.. This gives me really 4 weeks to pick from, but.. there is nothing.

What do you do? I really didn't want to rent the ressie out, or the points out. I REALLY wanted to go, but team leader, really needs me there for Sept. I thought okay let me try something.. Maybe I cannot get a 1 bedroom at BC.. but checked SSR nope.. okay smaller/ larger.. nope no studios no 2 bedrooms.. Spliting okay.. but ...I found 3 random days not together in nearly all of Oct..

I cannot be the only person who ideally needed to tweek/change dates 2 months out... but I may have no alternative to going and annoying her, or selling the ressie on ebay.. What have you done in this situation? I cannot be alone here.

If you haven't call, I would to see if MS can come up with anything else. Otherwise you could wait list or rent it out. This is one of the risks of timeshares or any non refundable type of vacation option.

yup, this is the 1st time, I haven't had an easy fix :S.. I did cancel a trip 3 days out, but used the points in holding no prob...

It's there availability at the non dvc resorts? Could you rent out your reservation and then pay cash for a non dvc room? Couldn't you also try the rent/trade board for your reservation instead of just eBay?

Can't be done with points. Can't book a stay during the last four months of your UY for any time during those last four months. Rule of Four.

If the trip is 30 days out, you can rent an existing reservation on the R/T Board.

How about August? Looks like there might be availability in August.

Unfortunately, the time you are looking for is one of the times when booking last minute is going to be even more difficult.

There are times during the year where I do think you would be able to make some adjustments and as mentioned, August may be easier to piece things together than September/October.

But, keep stalking the website as things change on a daily basis..

What is your use year? You said they have to be used by the end of October, there is no November use year. If you have an October use year, they have to be used by the end of September.

I started looking for a reservation for October at 5 1/2 months out and there was nothing at all. Not 1 day during our 6 day stay in any studio so I can corroborate with what you are seeing (and feeling!)

I think your best pet would be, as a pp stated, to rent that reservation and then use the cash to book a room through Disney when you can go. I am hoping the fall discounts will be announced soon (last year most were announced late August but there have been some July releases in the past as well) which would make staying at a Deluxe a little less pricey at least.

They were transferred in points, I thought it was Oct, but obviously it sounds like I was wrong.. I would have to call.. It is def booked, so not sept.. but it may be sept guidelines.. Or possiblty by end of Nov,.

Aug not an option the issue is I took a week and a 1/2 in July and ideally it would be 90 days before leaving again. I think I am just going and no looking back.

It is more than 30, but I am not waiting until 30 days to make a decision, as if I cannot the risk of losing points, would break my heart. I also would not want to risk the air fair if i couldn't and telling her last min I have to go would be much more difficult then.. So sorry today I cannot move dates.

I might call to see if Nov will be an option. (I thought it was Oct UY but maybe Nov.) . but I am looking online and availibity is really not much better :S
