What do you do w/ your laptop at resort?

I was wondering what you do with your lap top in the resort when you leave for the day?

Some resorts have in-room safes large enough to hold them.

We have always just left it sitting out on the desk where we normally used it.

My DW was always concerned so I just put it in the suitcase since they had locks anyway.

The safes at ASMu weren't large enough for our laptop, and I didn't feel safe leaving it out (worried about theft a little, but also didn't want any stray cleaning supplies getting on it!), so we just put it in a drawer under the TV and never had a problem. Same with the iHome we brought to keep the iPods charged up.

I've left mine on the table and I have out it in my bag and out it in the closet.

At SSR we put it (laptop standing up on side), hubby and sons billfold, PSP, 6 PSP games, and MP3 player in the safe. Hubby had to stack/be creative to make it all fit, but it did! We left cases for laptop and PSP out, they were not put in of course!

We always have one or two laptops with us.
We just leave them out & have never had a problem.

Lock it in a safe. It's the safest thing to do if a stolen laptop would ruin your vacation - or at least cause you considerable stress.

We have always left it out on the counter by the phone. Never had a problem.

Well I admit we usually just leave it out and have never had a problem however we usually stay in a DVC resort and they don't come into your room every day. There are devices you can buy to lock them to a table or other piece of furniture (something that can't just be lifted up easily) but your laptop has to have a security slot for it. I looked into it after reading a thread about some stolen laptops but unfortunately our laptop doesn't have one.

Also on our last trip, we stayed at BWV and SSR - the safes at SSR are bigger. You could easily fit a laptop (standing on end) in the in room safe there but the ones at BWV are smaller so our laptop will not fit in those.
