Do you go out to eat? Do something special?

Usually I don't do a whole lot except eat the cake my DH makes for me. :goodvibes If my birthday falls on a weekday, we're both working which makes eating out impossible. We work opposite shifts.

I spend three days at Disney with my close friends.

Friday we go to DTD dressed as Pirates
Saturday we do all 4 parks in one day
and sunday we shop.

Its the best time of my life!

Although, your in Michigan, so i'd probably plan a dinner at Olive Garden or something, and have everyone dress formal. ANd id wear a tiara and rent a limo.

My birthday is my fav. holiday!

Since 2001, I have only done one particularly special thing: My dh took me to see The Lion King in 2003.

DH and I have the same birthday so we try to take a weekend trip or do something special

Usually nothing. Not since we've had kids. But this year DH is taking me for a 5 night/4 1/2 days trip to WDW without the the kids. Yahoo!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1: So on my actually b-day we are going to Animal Kingdom and dinner at Cal. Grill.

well, since my birthday falls on a wednesday next month, I dont have the DD's so DBF has a evening planned that I'm slowly getting hints about. As of right now, I know we're leaving here at 4:30pm and heading somewhere...the only reason I know that is because he asked if I had class that night, and if I did, if I could skip it so we could leave when he gets out of work..

We also have a family bday party for February- my aunt and i share the same day, and I have 2 uncles and my grandfather have birthdays the same week..Usually this is on the weekend following our big birthday week

Brandy

normally we just have cake at home, but this time it hits on a Sunday, and last night I got a certificate in my email for Bennigans. I get my entree and a brownie ice cream for free. Just hope my goofy family doesn't have them sing to me and embarrase me. I saw them put a coffee filter on one person's head while they made a big ruckus around them.

We don't do very much for birthdays. When the kids were little we always had family over for a cookout for them but we didn't do that for us adults. Now, the most we do is out to eat. The older I get the less I like birthdays.
The kids did come up to our house this year for my birthday and went out to lunch with us. It was over Christmas break so my daughter(teacher) and my son(college student) were both off that day.

Dh and I always go to dinner with family one night and friends another on the weekend of my birthday week. That day is usually less eventful-DH gets me flowers or surprises me with something. :)

NOTHING!!! I try forget them!! The DH knows not to even mention it!!!

Nothing.. I dont remember the last time I did anything special on my birthday. My birthday is in August. I remember when I was younger I had birthday parties until I was in 2nd grade. After that, some yrs I had birthday cake some yrs not. Sometimes parents took me out for my birthday dinner some yrs not, there was no rhyme or reason.
Now as a married adult, I NEVER make a big deal of my birthday. Most of my friends have no clue when my birthday is. My husband doesnt really do anything. This past birthday was spent by taking the dog to the vet , going to a boyscout meeting, and having dinner at Wendy's.
Now with all that said, I dont make a big deal about my husbands birthday either.
However, my 3 kids, well their birthdays are pretty special. I vowed that no matter how old they get, they will ALWAYS have a birthday cake, and a special dinner on their birthdays. I want them to always know how special they are.

This year I'm going to WDW! DH's b-day is in Feb so we combined Xmas and both birthdays to go to WDW.

We actually leave in two weeks, right on my birthday - Jan. 30th.

Other years we have just gone out to dinner. Nothing over the top.

You know sometimes people that care about you would like to celebrate the day. Did you ever think about that?? :confused3 Can you at least give me the month?? :teeth:

We always go out to eat wherever I choose. Then back home for cake. Sometimes I make my own, sometimes DH buys one for me.

We have dinner with my brother and SIL once a week so they always get me a cake and we celebrate again.

My girlfriends also take me out to eat.

Then we get together with my older brother and his family sometime in Sept/Oct and celebrate all us fall babies birthdays. DS is 9/5, little brother is 9/6, I am 9/26, DD is 10/24 and older brother is 10/25.

When I was little we always got to pick out dinner and Mom would make us a cake.

For as long as I can remember until my Mom died I picked the same thing: Chicken cutlets, lima beans, corn, and scalloped potatoes. Chocolate cake with vanilla icing for dessert.
