What do you do to celebrate New Years Day?

at 11:59 watch the countdown, drink a glass of something sparkly, go outside and light fireworks that are REALLY REALLY LOUD.

When we lived in Miami we used to hide under the bed because of all the bullets flying around-for some reason Miamians, Miamiites? like to fire their guns into the air at midnight. We had a few bullets lodged in the wall of our high rise.

Now we celebrate our oldest daughter's birthday-it's was a New Year's Eve surprise- sort of like, hey, fireworks, hey, my water broke!

New Years Eve- my family and I are going to just hang out at home watch the ball drop, probably going to Pizzaria Uno's for dinner (festive, I know)

New Years Day- my parents and I are going to the Broadway show that I've been dying to see, The Light In The Piazza. Can't wait!

We were so totally going to watch the New Years show live from Halifax on tv. We love to make fun of Liz Rigney singing...

But we're watching movies. In Good Company, Ladder 49 (I love Joaquin Phoenix, I first saw this on the Disney Wonder last may) and Mr & Mrs Smith (Brad Pitt is fugly)

tonight I am having a couple friends over for somewhat of a party. i dont normally do anything special on new years day but maybe we will go shopping or something..?
