What do you do on your day of arrival?

I asked this question before but for departure day. I'm having a really hard time planning these 2 days since I'm unsure on flights and time it takes to check in/out and all that. We should be arriving by 830 am. We are planning on doing a water park the day we arrive. We are either staying at Pop or POFQ depending on if free dining is offered.

I'd like to eat a really great 1st meal but I do not want to sacrifice time at the water park, so I'm in a bit of a pickle.

So a few questions.

What do you guys do on your day of arrival?

Is a late breakfast ADR at BOMA or Rain Forrest Cafe out of question for us given the time we are arriving?

How long does DmE and check in at your hotel take? Do you have to go straight from the airport to your hotel to check in or can you just drop bags off and check in later?

We check in, unload the van if our room is ready, grab breakfast at the food court, and go to a park. We usually arrive around 7 a.m.

We did the water parks for the first time last year, and we had a blast! That would be a great first day. You could plan a fun meal for dinner. I wouldn't plan a breakfast ADR, too much chance of flight delays. Unless you take a cab, it could take awhile to get from Pop or POR to AKL for Boma.

Typically, we arrive around 11am. We check-in at the resort. If the room is ready we get settled in (otherwise we'll explore the resort a bit until the room is ready), then maybe swim, and go to our dinner ADR. We don't make a late night of it because we plan to get up early and hit a park at RD for our first "full" day.

Our plane landed at 11 AM, so we just planned at DTD day. We went in the pool for a bit too. If we would arrive early we may have gone to a park, but we got up at 4 AM and figured by the time we went to a park for 4-5 hours it'd be 8-9 at night. That was just too long of a day (in our opinion) just starting out our trip.

In your situation we would check in and head straight to a park. We save water park days for breaks when our feet need rest or we need sleep in the middle of the trip.
