What do you do for your lunch break?

With the warmer/nicer weather coming I am taking my MP3 player to work and walking the loop road around the hospital to get away from things and get in a little better shape. What do you all do on your lunch break?

Grade papers, prepare for the next subject, run to the copier, cut laminating. I would really love to take a quick walk, but lunch time is usually one of the few breaks I get in the day.

lol, work. I almost never take any kind of break. But, I dont usually work full-time, so it balances out.

I used to walk every day, but then it started to get warm and I would sweat, and then feel yucky for the rest of the day.

Now I work about 2 miles from home, so I go home at lunch time. I have enoug time to move the laundry around, empty the dishwasher, vacuum the downstairs, eat lunch, and go to the post office. I love having that stuff done when I get home at night, but I really should walk.

I work a 6 hour day also. You don't get a lunch break? I get a lunch break (1/2 hour) plus 2 short breaks (15 minutes).

To answer the OP, I usually eat a quick lunch and then check email, make personal phone calls, or chat with co-workers on my lunch break.

I walk 2-3 miles each day. We have a 1/4 mile tunnel under our building for the winter... and it's exactly one mile around in the summer.

You have time to go for a walk during your lunch break? What kind of hospital/department do you work in? Is it a magnet hospital? I wanna work there!

I worked on several units that made it so difficult to even actually *eat* my lunch much less do other stuff. I went to another department, and I would get time to actually eat but not really enough time to *enjoy* it.

I usually go to my car, put on a certain AM station and eat my lunch. When I'm done eating, I'll put the seat back and take a power nap if I'm that tired (I work 9 hours) or I'll just read a book. I'll do that even in the summer with the windows down. Usually my car is in the shade so it's a bit cooler.

Now that the weather has turned nice, I have been walking about the lake -- 2 miles. I hope to do it every other day. I thought it would be good "getting in shape" for Disney.

I only get 25 minutes

In that 25 minutes I:
walk the kids to the lunchroom
use the bathroom
return any phone messages
stand in line at the copier

If there's anytime left over, I get to eat lunch.
