What Do you Do For Easter Baskets?

I like ordering from a company like Oriental Trading Company for a lot of the holidays. We order for the classroom and home. We currently have two boys so we tend to go with sports oriented baskets. But I 'have' to put in candy - the tradition is too strong from my childhood. Even though my boys don't like chocolate. I also like to put in a DVD or something along those lines.
Also, I have for years left a trail of basket grass and a few candies going out the door. Sometimes from their bedroom where the Easter bunny came and checked on them, etc.
My mom always bought the Easter outfit for us and I've found myself buying the boys their new suits around this time. Try new ties if that's all they need. There are so many fun things - I also shop at the after sales and have a lot of stuff on hand for the next year.
My boys are definitely not into stuffed animals - we recently cleaned out BAGS of them (took them to our local Salvation Army, which cleans them up and takes them to the hospital).

DS is the only who cares around our house....I hide a $5.00 bill in a plastic egg for him last year and he was thrilled to pieces. Okay, so Itossed two jellybeans in it also, so it would rattle when he shook it.

This year he's getting to dye some eggs, and a chocolate bunny he'll try to hoard until Halloween, again. I'm tired of the confection mafia pressuring me buy stuff all year. It doesn't seen to end....Valentine's Day, Easter, Birthdays, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas... I have a kid who haords..it's not pretty!!

I work for a chocolate factory so my daughter gets loads of candy in her backet but I also put in some toys, a dvd and a leapster tape...last year she got a playstation2 system for Easter in her basket..well actually the basket was sitting on top of the system since it was way to big for her basket LOL...in the eggs I put candy and change in some and dollars in a few.

I think you just need to talk to your sister and set a dollar level on what you will spend on baskets. You can always give something 'bigger' privately to your girls at another time. (The Easter Bunny forgot to bring...or dropped off early..)

I, also, tend to keep our Easter spending down to a minimum. It's not Christmas and it's not their birthday, it's not a time for presents. I'm amazed at what my friends buy for their kids. I used to spend around $10 each but as they get older, it's harder to do. They don't eat a lot of candy and would rather have gum and tic tacs. Last year, I bought my oldest a phone card so that bumped everyone up a notch.

I like the idea of money in plastic eggs. I might do that this year. What teenager doesn't like cash?

I do the bathing suits (disney right now if you buy the swimsuits is giving away free sunglasses with them), summer sandels, disney dollars, 1 dvd and one of their favorite candies.
