We usually get together at our place with my Mum & brother, but this year we decided to hit the beach for a change from the house & computers. My darling brother is a computer salesman & for some reason can't even have Christmas day away from the computer;)

So it's out of the house this year to the beach:)

But unlike you guys, we don't eat a hot Christmas Dinner;) We would literally roast if we did;)

We go for cold meat & salad & maybe hot Christmas Pudding:)

We do mostly everything on Christmas eve..
We go to both families & celebrate Christmas then we try to go to Midnight mass...

On Christmas we go to my Aunt's house..
But I have to work Christmas Eve this year..

Christmas Eve is always my Mom, brother, sister, my Mom's girlfriend, and I, sometimes my grandmother or family friends also, we go to a movie and out to dinner, sometimes church but not always, depending on whether I have to work or not and other things,

Christmas Day we are at my Mom's during the morning and around one we go to my Dad's spend an hour or two just my Dad, brother, sister, and I then my Dad's family comes over, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.

The whole family, mom, brothers, sister, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephew, nephews and neices in law, boyfriends, girlfriends all come to our house Christmas day. Everyone brings a dish. It is a neice's birthday, too.:D

When growing up we did a big Christmas eve dinner with leftovers for christmas day.

Since DH works Chrismas eve we do a big dinner christmas day...lobster, shrimp, tenderloin..yum...oh and eggs benedict in the morning.

Christmas eve, we usually just chill out, and get ready for the next day.

We open presents at our house, then go to either a) my aunts/parents/sister (my side of the family) for a brunch, and then after that we go to b) my FIL's hous e for dinner.

Then we sleep it all off the next day.

I used to have a party for one side of the family and dinner for the other.
For the last few years I had everyone over on Christmas day.

We usually have Christmas at our house and someone from the family (most times my mom and sister) comes up and spends the night for "Santa". We go to Christmas Eve services and eat!

But this year since DS has joined the Marines and can't come home we are taking DD(15) to Santa Fe and Vail with the Grandparents!! I couldn't face being at home without Brandon being there so we had to have an adventure!!!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!! I'm dreaming of a white Christmas................:p :p :p :p

We go to my SO's dad's the morning of Christmas Eve and open up presents. Then we come home and open up presents. Then we go to my mom's for Christmas dinner and open up presents later. Christmas Day the kids and I play any games they got and I make a big leftovers dinner.:teeth:

Oh Nutsy, Christmas at the beach sounds like heaven to me right now! Some day I want to do that, at least once.

Christmas eve is chaotic at my DHs aunts house. There are about 40 people, 20 of them kids under the age of 9. Everyone dresses to the nines. They live in a huge formal home and I always feel rich when I go there. ;) It's noisy and fun but this year we are staying home for a quiet evening..

My older kids feel a little strange at celebrations with their step fathers relatives and I can't blame them. This year I'll have my brother, sister, and their families over after church on CHristmas eve. We'll eat, play some games and listen to Christmas music. It will be an early night for my sister as she has 3 kids under age 5. After they leave DH and I will snuggle on the couch and watch It's a wonderful Life with the kids. We'll try to stay awake longer than the kids to do the 'Santa' thing, but I'll probably end up waking up at 4am to put out the gifts. I am SO excited not to have to get dressed up and go out.

Christmas day we'll go to DHs sisters for Prime rib or filet mignon. Mmmmmm....

I'm actually looking forward to the holidays this year, I hope the feeling lasts! ;)

We do presents first thing, of course! DS would have a cow otherwise. Then usually DH and I start making dinner and we have everyone to our house. But this year we are going to my sister's for dinner and gifts. I'm sure we'll packed like a uhaul, between the stuff they got at home (that they must take to try out) and the stuff they'll get at my sister's house!

Then later we'll just hang out and play with all the kids stuff!!;)

Christmas Eve we have a buffet and kind of graze all evening. We usually open gifts then. In the morning we do the Christmas stockings adn have a HUGE dinner. Ours usually consists of BBQ pork ribs, a special salad that is our tradition, garlic mashed potatos etc. We always have the same candy cane dessert too.

I work on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, so I schedule my Christmas for another day. This year my mother is coming for a visit the weekend of December 14, so I will celebrate Christmas that weekend. We have a room for three nights at Port Orleans, have a handful of Disney things planned, and I will open all my gifts then too. I think that is a much better option than opening them all alone at my place on Christmas day.

At work, we will cook some food on the firebox and have a buffet on the tender of the train. We do that for every holiday.

Well the past Christmas wasnt so good, but this year I feel it will improve. I am not sure why it will be better but just have that feeling ;) I mean I am already thinking about Christmas shopping(I usualy go the week of or before Christmas) but not this year I may venture out the day after Thanksgiving.

This year for Christmas eve I will be cooking at my house, actually I will be cooking all day and have invited friends to stop by to join me in a class of wine and some appetizers. And my family mom, dad, uncle, sis and bil will be coming over for dinner. We usually eat late on Christmas Eve.

Christmas day I am not sure where I will be going

Christmas Eve we open one present (usually sleepwear or a game), then we make dinner together, and go to a movie, then church. We have services at 2, 5, 7 and midnight. We like the midnight service if we can get in the movie early. Otherwise we do church, then movie (The Two Towers, this year). Christmas morning we open the rest of the gifts, and make a big breakfast. Then we head to my in-laws, and eat dinner at about 2. Then play cards and hang out with MIL, FIL, and Stephen's brother and sister.

I have never had a holiday meal at my house. Not even Easter. Someday I'd like to host Christmas, but I'm sure it won't happen very soon. My family (mom, dad, sisters and brother) all live far away. I haven't spent Christmas with them in forever. They always get together for a bit Thanksgiving meal, but we only make it for that once every 5 years or so.

Regardless of my little complaints, I LOVE CHRISTMAS. This year there will be very few gifts, cus we're taking the girls to WDW January 1-7 for their Christmas present. We are sooo excited!!!

christmas is pretty much centered right now around my immediate family. DH's family doesn't live here and they aren't all that close anyway...

so, DH and i will exchange gifts with each other the weekend before christmas...probably sunday the 22nd this year. then on christmas eve day, we drive to ft wayne (about 2 hours north of us) and stay the night. my brother's there, and eventually, my sister and her fiance arrive (they have to drive back to ft wayne from his parent's in the chicago area). everyone goes to bed. then at some ungodly hour in the morning, we are awakened the same way we have been for most of our lives. "santa" (mind you, we are 29, 24, and 22) blasts the "christmas in the stars" CD. it's a really cheesy CD with C3PO and R2D2 and the droids from star wars...

then we open gifts and go back to bed...

after a bit, the ladies will gather in the kitchen, prepare breakfast, and then after breakfast, preparations for the dinner begin. we'll have a big dinner...pretty much like thanksgiving, but with a ham instead of a turkey.

after dinner and dessert, we load up our loot and head for home...

This year it looks like we will be in Houston for Christmas.

We we stay in Michigan we have my mother and brother over for exchanging gifts and a huge Christmas dinner. It's very cold in Michigan at Christmas.

This year we will be at my MIL's house and we will exchange gifts and have a huge Christmas dinner.

On another day, not Christmas, we will go to my sister's and have a get together :)

So many of you have families who get together for Christmas Eve or even do two in one on Christmas Day.

When I was a kid, all my Dad's side of the family (Unlcles, Aunts, cousins etc) would all have Christmas Day all day at my Aunts(my Dad's sister), but once all us kids starting growing up & leaving the next we all kind of drifted our own ways.

Then when I got married we used to got to my Mum's for Chrsitmas Dinner(lunch) & then to my BIL for tea, but that soon went by the wayside once his kids started having kids of their own. We got pushed out of the family circle & seeing as I only have one brother & my Mum it is now just the 6 of us for Christmas Dinner every year. My Mum is 85 & I hate to think what will happen once she passes. It is so sad that some families don't get together for Christmas, especially when there are only 2 children (adult ones) to share with.
