What do you do for a living?

I am the cook at an elementary school....ok...I'm a "Lunch Lady"! :D I love my job. I guess the only thing I don't like is the paperwork, but that's not even that bad.

I'm a marketing assistant at an indoor air quality company. I like the variety of things I get to do, as well as the fact that it's a small company. Since it's a small company (approx. 85 employees), I get to do things that a person in my position would never get to do at a large company (like writing press releases, coordinating trade shows, making copy for ads). I dislike the fact that other people at work who do much less work than I do seem to get promotions, but now that I have a new boss, I think that's going to change for the better. :)

I'm the Contracts Administrator for a governmental agency. I love that I get to work with all kinds of different people from the Department of Defense to large national companies to "mom-and-pop" businesses, and it's always something different everyday.

I work full time in real estate, full time mom and part time volunteer at a wild animal hospital.

I am a Deskside Support rep for the largest Technology Corporation around. I do Windows/AIX and Networking stuff.... and I'm a Lotus Notes master. Well... not quite Master yet...but I'm good. :)

I'm a CPA, turned programmer -- right now, I'm on a development team supporting an internal Oracle Financial System that we recently implemented here in our company for all of North America (one of the global consulting companies). :)

What I love about my job is A.) solving problems and getting into the hands-on programming on the system and B.) the flexibility to be able to work at home if I need to, or come in early, etc.

What I don't like about the job right now is the politics that we had managed to avoid for a number of years here and have only recently started having to deal with. That, and the uncertainty of the consulting profession has us always worried about our jobs. :(

I work in the television industry and answer questions for people that call in about our television networks.

I love my job, as they treat you very well here, and well, in this industry, there is never a dull moment!

The only thing I don't like about my job is having to deal with people who act like their lives will end if their favorite show is not on at a certain time - give me a break, ok? To get yelled at by an angry tv show watcher gets on my nerves. Gripe about something that actually makes a difference!!

Hm, professionaly, i am a full-time student (who is currently on summer break). I work as an orientation leader at the university i am attending and looking for another, more stable job to make some money! Other things i do for a living: drink coffee, lay in the grass to clear my mind, watch Seinfeld re-runs, travel, and hang out with all my friends. :D

And, i am going to be a writer.

I am an accountant for a large multifamily developer. I love being able to help the property managers-they are great people!! The thing I dislike the most is the entire accounting cycle. It seems like we finish one month end just in time to start the next. It never seems like you finish anything:(

I think I am a lawyer though my boss hasn't figured that out yet

I love helping people but really hate my current job because the environment consists of too many self-centered people!
I just applied for a job as an advocate/attorney with a mental health agency. PLEASE SEND PIXIE DUST AND PRAYERS!!!!!!!!!
If I don't get out of my current position soon, I may just drop dead from unhappiness
My DH is a social woker working as a substance abuse counselor at a state inpatient facility. :)

And our little bear is just a little stuffed bear (he's too cute to be anything else!) except when he wants to be something else :smooth:

I am a professional Realtor (where I make $$)
I am a Girl Scout Leader (where I spend $$)

I work for General Motors

and my wife is a H.S. teacher. What I like about our jobs is ,we are both done with work, and both home by 3:15 pm everyday. My wife loves being off all summer. We will both be retiring at the same time (2007) at age 52.

i am an analyst for a public policy research and consulting firm. we do a lot of government contracts. :)

the things i like about my job are: 1) the benefits 2) the work is always changing so i don't get bored

the things i don't like about it are: 1) politics and 2) billability and sales goals that i don't have much control over but affects me anyways 3) things i probably shouldn't talk about here, LOL

Part-time consultant. I install, train and support accounting systems.

I am a Program Manager. I manage people who manage project teams that build software for business systems.

However, since I was 6, I have been a WDW Transportation wanna be....monorails of course! :p

WA

I am the supervisor for a before school child care program K-2.

What I like: the kids, the pay and the fact that I'm home by 10:00 a.m.!

What I don't like: when I don't work, I don't get paid (summer, holidays, snow days)

I have two jobs. I work in the kitchen of the local hospital. I supervise a couple of days a week and the other days I do the aide work. It's a very physically demanding job. There are more things that I don't like about it than there are things that I do like. I'm listed as part time, but am scheduled full time hours. That means crappy benefits. I can't even afford the health insurance. And sometimes I am so tired when I get home that I just go to bed. The one thing I do like is the pay. It's pretty decent.

My other job is my fun job. I sell ummm... how should I say this since it is a family board....adult toys. :o I tell people it's kind of like having a tupperware party...only a little bit different. :D And that's all I have to say about it here. I would love to make this my full time job but can't quite do that yet. Maybe someday.

Michelle

Oh yeah....flame away if you must. I'm not afraid. :teeth:

I am a Regestered Pharmacy technician in Mass, Pharmacy coordinator, and with lots of studying and some pixie dust I will also be a certified technician at the end of July when I take the exam.

What I love about my job: It is now my career. I get to help people on a daily basis. I love working with the public.

What I hate about my job: People not understanding their insurance and getting mad at me for trying to explain it to them. And I hate it when people think their prescription is more important that everyone else's and wants me to do it first.

My motto: "I can do it fast or I can do it right" you tell me.

I wish I could really say that to someone.

Oh shelle: If I lived closer to you I would be at one of your parties! And so would some of my friends!

I am a nurse on a cardiac floor. I love my job! :)

I am a Nutrition Manager at our town's Council on Aging. I run the Meals on Wheels program, as well as oversee the lunches daily in our dining room. I love working with Senior Citizens, they are our link to the past and a peek into the future. Giving them 30 minutes of your time to hear a story from the past means the world to them, and the world to me also. A very rewarding job!
