what do you do during stop over flights?

Hi Everyone,

I have only flown nonstop flights, but am considering doing 1stop from Boston to MCO. What do you all do during the stop over if you don't have to change planes. There will be myself,dh,ds19,ds19,dd19,dd7. We will most likely be flying Jetblue. Can we bring a sub sandwich to eat during the layover? I know beverages can be brought only if purchased after security. But, what about sandwiches. The flight I am looking at is only about 1 hr lay over.

Also, last time prices went down after I bought tix, JB told me no credit as it was not the exact same flight (time changed), does anyone know if that is still the case?

If I experience stop over flights, probably I will take pictures of the place I am located or just surf in the internet and have fun. Killing the time

Sometimes you only have enough time to run to your next flight.

With a stop over you do not get off the plane. So no running to your next flight involved (would be a good way to pass the time)

We had one in Phoenix on our way to California for about 45 minutes - we just read our books, got up and stretched our legs (changed seats but we were on Southwest and could do that) and ate the snacks that we had brought on board. Some people were allowed off the plane to use a "real" washroom and just had to have their boarding pass and id with them to get back on the plane.

Nothing too exciting to do while waiting on a plane!

My husband just flew Southwest to Sacramento and back...through Chicago...and his flights were supposed to be stopovers, but they ended up having to change planes.

This is what I was going to add. They'll announce it before landing if it happens, so you'll have time to get organized.

On stopovers where I didn't have to change planes, I think I've only gotten off the plane once and that was to get food. All the other stopovers I've taken have been on Southwest and their turn times mean there is rarely time to deplane.

Last March we had a 2 1/2 hour lay over in JFK. We found tables in the food area and ate lunch and the kids got most of there homework done during this time. This was the most time we've had to wait between flights before. It was long but it was nice not having to worry about getting off the one flight and running to the next.

Well, technically a stop over is different than a stop, which is what you are referring to.

A stopover is when your "connection time" is more than 4 hours on a domestic itinerary or more than 24 hours on an international itinerary. Stopovers can be days, weeks, or months long.

OP, during connections I usually grab a bite to eat, something to drink and then board the next flight. Depending where your connection is and how long you have you might explore the airport and take a look at some of the bigger "international" planes (if you connect at JFK or IAD)
