What do you do during sea days?

I only had 2 Sea Days and there was so much do (well I guess I had 2.5 days with Endicott Arm) and the first day I wore myself out by doing all types of activities. The last day was pretty rough so we spend most of the day on our balcony. For Endicott Arm we had an excursion and spend the rest of the day on our balcony.

First Sea Day Report and Last Sea Day report

Read book.
Get a spa treatment.
Attend cooking demo.
Take Art of the theme tour.
Do the group walk a mile in the morning.
Watch a movie in the theatre - people coming and going all the time and being noisy.
Used to play in the arcade, but I guess it's gone now.
Walk every level of the ship.
Take a yoga class.

When we don't have the kids with us we relax at the adult pool, do alcohol tastings or trivia at the pub, or just find somewhere to relax and people watch. I've done the spa the last couple cruises, but this upcoming one will just be doing rainforest room as I don't think the massages are worth it and I hate the sales pitch at the end (which they do even when you ask them not to). I always make sure to finish at least one book onboard!

Sea Days are our favorites. We relax, I go to some of the activities. I took DH once and he napped the whole time....he snores. I go by myself now. DS was in the tween / teen clubs or the pool all day.

I am definitely in the minority...the only time I like sea days is during a Very Merrytime Cruise. I'd probably feel differently if there were more/bigger pools.

I don't know precisely what we do on our sea days, but I do know that somehow it takes all day and I never get to do everything I planned.

I read a lot in general and always have 20-30 unread books on my iPad Kindle app. I will primarily read if we are on the ship early and have to spend time in the Cove Cafe, if we are on a cruise where we fully intend that most of our time will be spent sitting somewhere and reading (although we usually end up talking even if it's intermittently or we sit on the loungers on Deck 4 where everyone has a book/tablet but are just pretending to read while snoozing - that includes us), and at night before going to bed (if I have any energy left at all). I can't say that I have been able to finish a lot of books while on the cruise. I read much more on the plane there and back.

If you really want to read, you can certainly plan for it but if you are afraid you will not find anything to do and that you need to read to pass the time, that's probably not going to be the case. If your book(s) are all hardcopy and take up a lot of space in the suitcase and you are not determined that you are going to spend your time reading, I'd keep what you bring minimal. You'll find more than enough to do even if it's sitting staring at the sea doing nothing. Or eating ice cream. That is one activity that does take up time. Especially if you do it more than once a day.

My husband just made the exact same comment to me today! I told him "There's loads to do!" Movie theater, broadway shows, three pools, AquaDunk/Duck, bars, night clubs, gym, spa, sports, games at sea, or even just relaxing in your stateroom. What ISN'T there to do is the better question.

Trivia, beverage tastings, Palo brunch, cooking demonstrations (on the longer cruises that we favor), sitting in Cove cafe reading my Kindle, once in a while a movie, DW will get lots of pictures of characters, eat. We don't do bingo or actually use the pools, although I will sit by the adult pool and read if ist's not too warm.

Sea days are our favorites.
