We are driving in may and getting to orlando by saturday morning for our 4 day dream cruise on sunday. We have passes for seaworld/aquatica that we could use day before cruise. Wife thinks we should just relax at hotel pool.

I'd like to hear what people do day before if you are in the orlando area. Do you just relax at hotel or go to one of the parks, downtown disney, etc.

Thanks.

We hung out in PC, went to the beach, watched the ships sail away, ate at Fish Lips.

If I had passes then I would go to Sea World. But I refuse to pay the 1 day admission to a Disney Park.

Listen to your wife. We've tried active days before our cruises after a day or two of driving, and still felt rushed and a little frantic by cruise-time. Then we got on board and just wanted to chill -- but who wants to do that when there's all these fun activities bring offered?! We are an overly activity family with busy schedules, so having that pre-cruise day to decompress, hang at the pool, go out for a leisurely supper, maybe fun shopping makes a world of difference.

And seriously, listen to what your wife is saying ... she wants a day of rest. Happy wife=happy life.

I would hang by the hotel pool then go to Downtown Disney and walk around a bit then have dinner there.

This is what we did. Also stopped by the liquor store.

we will spend the day before our cruise in the car, however if we were in your shoes, we would probably use the passes and go to Seaworld.

We are staying at a WDW resort the night before our cruise but not going to the parks. Staying at POR to just enjoying the resort and Downtown Disney. We've never just "vegged" at the resort with the kids before. It's always been trying to maximize park time. The kids are looking forward to just hanging out at WDW. May do the balloon ride at Downtown Disney or play putt-putt - things we would never do on a regular Disney vacation.

Last time we stayed at akl for one night before our cruise. We Ate at boma, watched the animals, went swimming etc..
Next time we'll be staying at AoA and we plan on dinner in the food court, swimming and I'm sure running from one oversized Disney character statue to another.

No parks for us .

We are going to one of Emeril's Universal restaurants to celebrate my birthday and then staying in Orlando overnight and driving over to the port the next morning.

Since you're asking for opinions I'll toss mine in as well... personally i'd spend part of that day getting to PC! There are so many things that can happen that would stress me out on the day of the sailing; car breaking down, traffic backed up, issues in Orlando, etc. I'd land in Orlando then head straight to Cocoa Beach and just relax. Enjoy what ever you decide!

Sorry just re-read that you are driving in...just to modify, I'd drive straight to PC!

We are DVC Members and are taking DW's Mother and Stepfather on their very first trip to WDW. We will be doing a Disney Cruise then returning for a few days of Disney World. We will be arriving in Orlando around noon the day before our cruise. We are checking in to our home resort the Wilderness Lodge then we plan on just hanging out by the pool and enjoying the resort property. Later we have Dinner Reservations at DTD. Then we plan to turn in early because we have 10:45 PATs the next morning.:cool1:

We are doing our 1st cruise in April 2015 but will do 5 nights in WDW before our 4 night cruise and then 2 nights at WDW afterwards. We have WDW AP's so have to get all the use out of those puppies! :goodvibes

I wish we had time! We are taking a late flight so kids don't miss the day at school when we leave on that Friday - because they will already be missing school the next week!

But if we did get in earlier - we would prob hang at downtown disney to get into the disney spirit without the price tag! Lol

Last year it was WDW this year it's Universal since we have AP's. We drive out to PC the morning of the cruise. We have never experienced any problems or traffic. Staying in PC doesn't interest me that much. I'm just not that impressed with the surrounding area.
