We have always gone to WDW when the parks were opened til 9 pm. or later. Now that we're going in November, I can't imagine going back to the hotel so early.

Was wondering what others do on a night that parks close early? Here are my thoughts...

....Chef Mickey's after MK closes since we are staying at CR.

....Downtown Disney for shopping.

....Checking out the Boardwalk

Will Disney Quest be open later? Any other ideas?

Thanks,

We like to play mini golf when the parks close early. You could also check out the other resorts on the monorail. Take the boat from the Contemporary to FW and watch the movie they do every night.

We will play mini-golf or, if we are traveling w/o kids, we will go to PI and visit the Adventurer's Club. Other times, we will head back to Epcot, since it closes at 9:00, and enjoy an extra ride on Test Track. Of course, if there is an E-ride night scheduled at MK, we make sure to get tickets for it.

We go back to the resort to relax, hit the pool and participate in any activities or entertainment that's going on there.

On the nights when we did not see Illuminations or Spectr we swam at the pool to unwind a little. Except for one night we went to Downtown Disney

After a long day of running around USF or SW, DH, DD, and I were pretty worn out. One night I did laundry at our hotel. One night DH and I went across the driveway to a cute little pub with Karaoke (sp?), but mostly we just wanted to shower and chill::yes::

I go for some kind of a snack, nothing heavy. Then I will use the pool as a relaxing wind down from a busy day. If I don't use the pool, then I will just take a shower, and relax, falling asleep while watching TV.

we either head to epcot. i think they closed a littler later??(cant remember for sure) or went dd to disney quest and then shopping. theres so much to do.

Going to Epcot is a great idea. It's going to be different (and fun) to have time after the parks close to do other stuff. Lucky for me, my kids never want to stop either!! (they are 8 and 11).

Keep 'em coming.

Last year was our first trip where the parks closed early for us. We did quite a few different things. We did DisneyQuest (it is open later), headed over to Epcot, Downtown Disney and spent some time exploring the resort. It also gave us more time to use the pools and take walks under the stars. There is always plenty of stuff to do at Disney!

Don't forget: You can hop on a ride shortly before 7pm. You can linger on Main Street, shop, and have a snack.

We have a bit of a routine when we return back to the resort. We typically have a snack (usually warm cookies) and then play a "family game". We usually bring a few games to play (either age appropriate card games or a small board game). Those have been some of our most special times!

And, of course, if you want to continuously be in the theme park, Epcot's World Showcase (including Mission Space and Test Track) are almost always open until 9pm. Even then, Illuminations begins at 9pm, so you won't get back to your room until after 10pm.

If you want to plan ahead, you'll likely find that MGM or MK is open later one or two nights that you are there. You can plan on going to those parks when they are open late. If MGM is open until 8pm, Fantasmic begins at 8pm. Again, you will not be back to your resort until after 9pm.

You'll see that although the parks have more limited hours, you will fit in a TON because of the short lines. Count your blessings! :)

Have fun! :)

We've been going this time for the last few years. We pretty much do what everyone else already suggested...go shopping, miniature golf, head over to Epcot, go back to our hotel and just relax or walk around the boardwalk...you could rent a surrey bike.

I think DisneyQuest is open until 11...11:30...somewhere around there.

I think you'll find, after walking around all day (we don't take a break during the day) that you'll be ready to just head back to your hotel and relax after the parks close.

Have a great trip! :D

One thing we've done is to go to Fort Wilderness for the campfire program. Chip and Dale come for a little sing-a-long, then they show a movie.

we also have to find things to fill our evenings...

here's what we've got planned...

fireworks and back to the pool (laundry for me)
fantasmic
hoop dee doo revue
illuminations
kids to simba's kids' club/dinner at boma for dh & i
mini golf
shopping/boardwalk for carnival games

We always have hopper passes and always head to Epcot.
It is our families favorite park, including my ds-6 and dd-10.

One night we took DD1 to the pool, other nights we just took advantage of the time to relax-which we don't get to do often at home. We watch some tv (especially the Disney World channels!), get a snack from the food court & hang out there, or browse the resort gift shop. I used to take a craft with me, but rarely picked it up. I always take two books, and a puzzle book. I usually end up finishing at least one book. We also take the time to look back at the days activities, and plan what we will do in the morning, what we will wear, etc. I am neurotic, so my mind is always going. I use the quiet time to call my kids (if they haven't gone with us) or other family members. Can't believe we'll be there soon again! :earsgirl:

We almost always go these days in off season when the parks close earlier. We go to Mk, MGM and AK earlier in the day and save Epcot for late afternoon and usually stay until closing. Sometimes we will take a night and go to the Boardwalk or Downtown Disney or play mini-golf. If we do the EMH we are usually ready to drop by 9 or 10 p.m. anyway!
