what do you do about photographs?

When traveling solo, do you have other people take pictures for you, take them of yourself, or leave the camera behind? I have always wanted to do a solo and I have been trying to work out the practical implications of it in my head in case it works out for me soon (Jan/Feb?? maybe??).
Of course, it would be nice to be in the parks without lugging around a camera, case, and extra batteries!

I only bring a small digital camera that fits into my crossbody purse. I always offer to take other's photos and then ask them to return the favor. Most are always willing and thankful that I got their poses.

I have been to WDW twice, most of the time solo..... Solo is the very best time to take photos, unless you feel you need to be in all of you photos.

I actually take my DSLR and get some amazing pictures (fireworks, some great shots of the castle...). there are very few pictures I really feel the need to be in but when I do (like character pictures)I have someone else take it. Many times a CM will be more than happy to take them for you...then if you need proof you were there you have it!

We did photopass when we were there just the two of us. It was really useful to get pictures of you a lot of different places. We got a ton of great pictures that way

I brought a small digital camera and most of the time the cast member with the character would take my picture with my camera and then i did the photopass too. I got alot of great pictures.

I was actually thinking about this too! I'm going on a solo trip in March and I'm going to buy a nice digital camera and take that plus my dslr. I'm also buying the photopass CD!

I always love taking pictures on my solo trips. Since I'm by myself, I don't feel bad waiting for the perfect shot or taking multiple shots of the same thing. I usually take one picture of myself just to prove I was actually there and I will usually take it myself or ask someone.

Do the photopass and ask the photographer to also take a picture using your camera. CMs who are not photopass photographers are also great about taking pictures. I was on one the trails near the Tree of Life in AK, taking pictures of the waterfalls. A CM was walking along and offered to take my picture.

I also like to do CP for breakfast. My server was really great on my last trip and made sure she was in the area when the characters came around to take a picture of me.

One doesn't have to be in every photo for it to make sense!!

Photos are meant to be keepsakes... to capture a memory. Whether you are in the photo or not, if the photo later brings back the memory of your trip, it served its purpose.

Although, I enjoy an occassional self portrait... so, I either find a place that has a ledge or something that I can set the camera on and use the self-timer, or politely ask a passer-bye to snap my pic.

im going solo on 14th oct. and im taking my digital camera and camcorder, i bought the gorillapod DSLR to hold the weight of both and a extra clip[ so i can keep one in the camera and one in the camcorder so i can easily and quickly switch them over, attach the gorillapod to anything availible and record / take my picture

I actually like taking photos of myself with my little point & shoot digital, just to see if I can come up with something good or funny. Invariably, when I'm doing that, someone will come up and ask if they can take the photo for me (and they tend to look at me funny when I say no).

I don't think you'll have any problem at all, if you'd like someone to grab a shot of you. Plus, you'll have fun taking shots of yourself and of whatever it is that grabs your fancy. It's kind of nice to be able to take your time and get the shots you want without anyone wanting you to hurry up about it.

When I was on my first solo trip a couple of weeks ago, the people around me were so nice to help me get some character photos during my character meals. Believe me, if you ask around, you'll find someone that can give you a real big hand.
