What do you consider "crowded?"

There is always so much talk about crowds around here that I am starting to stress about it for our June 12-17 trip. What do you consider crowded? 30 minute waits? 1 hour waits? 2 hour waits? What is your crowd tolerance level?

I am so worried the crowds will keep me from having fun... I am so spoiled after our September trip of nothing but walk-ons. I can handle 30-45 minute lines and using fast pass. But I am dreading any longer than that...

To top it off, I am going with family and I have a feeling they aren't going to want to get up and get to the parks at opening or follow any of my other crowd-beating tactics.

(However, I can't complain too much since they are paying for me to tag along with them :hyper: )

If I extend my arms out in front of me and can touch someone there are too many people!;) Seriously I hate crowds and waiting so I only go in the low season. 30 minutes wait is enough for me. That said don't let it spoil your trip. Come on you are in Disney World for Pete sake! Go thinking positive and you won't be disappointed.
Now if I extend my arms out and touch someone that looks like Brad Pitt, I may want to get a wee bit closer!

I am going at the end of June and have the same questions! Is it so crowded that you are walking along at snails pass or can you still walk at your speed. I am not so much worried about the lines but I can't stand getting stuck behind slow people. Actually, it is my fiance who can't stand it. He will start getting very upset so I would like to warn him if this is the case. Thanks!

My Dh and I are spoiled, if its more than 15 min we leave and head for something else!we always go at the lower seasons. One day we decieded to drive the 4 hours to spend the weekend. We walked right into the Mk and say the 1hr plus wait times and drove all the way back down instead of wasting our time and money to be miserable. But thats just us::yes::

It will be crowded at the end of June.

The further in to June you go, the more crowded it gets.

If I were you I'd get up and go early on my own and plan a meeting location for 11am or so. THat way they can sleep in and you can have fun. Maybe even plan PS Breakfasts to meet them at.

I think crowded is a realtive term, as I think crowded goes beyond just what the wait times are.

I've been when there's lots of people. Not gridlock, but the walkways are pretty crowded, but yet little to no waits.

I stood and waited for a ride , here in the uk for 2hrs and 45 min. Would we have to wait that long the last 2 weeks of April.

I don't think the last 2 weeks in April will have 2 hr. 45 min. waits. Once you get past Easter the crowds drop again as most spring breaks are over. We went last year 2 weeks after Easter and it was not crowded at all. This year we are going April 18-22 and that is one full week after Easter. Most spring breaks are over except for Mass. and I think a couple of other northeast states. I expect it to be a little more crowded than last year. But any day at WDW is better than a day at work. Cheers :D

If you want to lessen your time waiting in lines then my suggestion is to use the touring plans in the Unofficial Guide. They work great, especially during the busier times of the year.
Have a great trip!

We were there during Spring Break 2002. We used the Unofficial Guide touring plans and never waited more than 20 minutes for anything.

We didn't even go "commando", we just used the info and made a reasonable plan (not in 5 minute increments like some ;) ) then were flexible.

easy way to check on crowds is call local hotels close to WDW and ask them when the rates go down in April. When they are low, so are the crowds.

I was at EPCOT 3 months after it opened, having that comparison, to me, the parks are never "packed". I have waited 90 minutes for a ride...would I now? No, but only becasue there is fastpass but if there was no fastpass I would wait 90 minutes. 120 is too long.

it will be crowded in june, especially if you're used to touring during off-season times....we are always there during the busier times and have always had a great time...take advantage of EMH and fastpass if you can and you will find june to be extremely manageable...the walkways will be crowded and you will get stuck behind some slow groups; probably more than once a day; ok, probably all day, but don't let it get you down or upset....your on vacation, in disney world, have a great time...

Mikkiblueeyes: you're probably going during one of the best times of the entire year...early to mid may has the best of both worlds IMHO...great weather, little to no rain and the low to moderate crowds...can't beat it....darn that school teacher wife of mine....lol...

I've been in the beginning of May and thought it was crowded! The lines were about 20-30 min. but if I stretched my arm out I would hit someone!LOL;) It was also really hot so that made the crowds seem worse.

I've been in July and have vowed to never do that again!! It was the last week of July and ridiculously crowded and hot.

I've gone in Oct, before it was regular season and it was heaven! Now that everyone caught on to that, we have not gone back at that time of year.

We really hate crowds and I don't just mean the long lines. That is why for the past 3 years we have gone in Nov. The week before Thanksgiving. Lines are rarely even 15mins. We walk into Fantasmic 20min. before the show and still get great seats! Now that's not crowded to me;)
