What do you call your parents/grandparents and what do your kids call you & grandparents

My parents were always Mommy/Daddy then Mom and Dad.
My maternal grandparents were Mama and Papa. My paternal grandparents passed away before I was 2. No idea if it was Grandma and Grandpa or not. I had a great Grandmother until I was 10 and she was Nana. It was what my Mom called her. My great grandfather to my mom was Papa.

When my DS was born, we started saying Grandma and Grandpa but as he started speaking it was Mama and Papa. Another generation of Mama and Papa. DH's parents passed away prior to DS being born.

DS calls us Mom and Dad.

My kids started out with mommy/daddy but as they got closer to middle school it switched to mom/dad for the most part. My brother has the oldest child. She heard her mother calling her parents Ma and Pa so called her grandparents Ma and Pa. She had some language issues and called my parents TooMa and TooPa. My sister's kid started out calling my parents grandma/grandpa but around age 4 got jealous that a boy she knew had a nana/papa so my parents became Nana/Papa which they remained. My mother is called Nana by her great granddaughter now as well (other great grandchild is too young to talk).

Since neither side of grandparents cared we went with Nana/Papa for my kids and Grammy/Grandpa/Great Grams for dh's side. Actually my daughter always called her great grandmother Gram with the Oreos because she always had oreos when we visited. DD16 was almost 5 when Great Gram passed away. I only recall calling my parents Ma/Dad but as they got grandchildren they became better know as Nana/Papa to all. My kids called us mommy/daddy but at one point switched to mom/dad.

I call my parents mom and dad. My daughter calls them grandma and papa.

My moms parents were grandma and grandpa and my dads mom was nana (her husband died when my dad was four)

Like @wishesuponastar, my mom still calls my dad daddy when she's talking about him to us. I tease her about it but it's weird when she refers to him as dad.

I don't know whaT I'll want to be called as a grandma.

When I was growing up I always called my parents by their name. I did the same with my grandparents. It was the normal thing to do. I can remember though calling my parents by their first name confused friends. It was normal to me but odd to them.

For my life, I always called my grandparents by their first name. It was never grandma or grandpa.

Later in life I switched and began calling my parents mom and dad. I'm not sure when the switch happened but believe at some point my father pointed out that he was "dad". I might have been in my 20s when the name change occurred.

I don't have kids. My 3 nephews have different names for my parents, everything from g-dad and g-mom, to grandma and granddad, to calling my parents by their first name.

I hate names like Nana or Poppa. Sorry they just make my skin crawl. Ick. Not sure why. It's not rationale. Just ick.

Our grandparents were always grandma and grandpa. That's what my kids call their grandparents. My mom and dad are mom and dad.

Well I guess I get to be the first to say both sets of grandparents were Mawmaw and Pawpaw.
My older cousin originally called the paternal set grandmom and grandad but then I came and changed it and taught all cousins after

We called my paternal grandma "Nanny", and my maternal grandmother was just "Grandma Rose" -- we never knew either of our Grandfathers.

....on a funny note, my sister and I are planning on teaching her son to call our mother "Big Momma" -- her magicband for our December trip even says it. She's not very thrilled, as you can imagine. Our Father's being called "Grumpa" and he embraces it with pride.

My children call me Mama & they call my DH Papa.
My children call my parents Beemum & Beepah.... and my DH's mom Grandma.

My kids called their Grandfathers Grandpa, and all 3 Grandmothers (including the one step-Grandmother) Grandma.
I never knew my Grandparents, 3 were deceased before I was born, the 4th passed before I ever met him.
My wife, well, a mess of names, none of them Grandpa or Grandma, and some of them not even their names, but THAT is a long story that goes back before DW was born.

For our kids they all call us mom and dad. They called their grandparents grandma and grandpa last names and their great grandparents the greats. Our grandkids call us by our first names. That is what they knew us by before we became their grandparents when my DS became their guardian. When my younger kids become parents, I hope that DH and I can become grandma and grandpa then.

I called my parents Mommy and Papi. Then Mom and Pop. My kids call us Mommy and Daddy or Mom and Dad. When DS was young he called his father Papi but once he got to school he started calling him Dad.

I called my grandparents Mama and Papa (with a Spanish accent). All of them.

My kids call all of their grandparents, great grandparents and great great grandparents Mama and Papa. Most of the grands and greats are still alive. No more great greats. Last one passed 2 years ago.

When I become a grandparent I told my kids I want a "cool" name. They have claimed I will also be Mama. lol

Grandparents:
Grandma (pronounced Gramma) and Grandpa (pronounced (Grampa).

My parents were from upstate New York ( near Buffalo) so maybe that explains the names we used.

My DS calls his grandparents
Grandma and grandpa.
He calls us mom and dad
( but Ohhhh the nicknames I've had for him over the years lol)

There are other grandkids that call grandma, G G and also call her grams....
But grandpa has Always been called Grandpa

My parents were Mom and Dad... Calling them Mommy and Daddy was discontinued when I was quite young.

Grandma and Grandpa on one side. Grandma was my BFF no doubt, we spent so much time together and I learned so much from her. Grandpa was absolutely amazing, he took me everywhere and we did lots of stuff together. He was a treasure.

Grandmother and Grandfather on the other side... YES one side of the family was that formal. I barely knew them anyway. I am not trying to speak ill of them or anything. It was not Grandmother's fault she died when I was so young. I truly wish I had known her, I just have vague images in my head. From what I have heard, she was pretty awesome, just never got the chance. Grandfather did do the "grandparent duties", he showed up at my high school graduation and weddings. In my 30+ years of having him, I don't think the two of us were ever had a conversation. When I was a teenager, he saw me on the street and didn't recognize me... yea we were that close.

I called my parents Mom and Dad, grandparents on both sides were Oma and Opa. Our kids call us Mom and Dad, maternal grandparents are/were Oma and Opa, paternal grandparents were Grandma and Grandpa.

I called my maternal Grandmother - Nanny, my maternal Grandfather - Grandpa (or Grandpa First-Name).

I called my paternal Grandfather - Poppy. My paternal Grandmother died well before i was born and even though my grandfather remarried before I was born I never thought of his new wife as my Grandmother, she was always just First-Name.

My kids call my parents Grammy & Grandpa. They call their paternal grandmother Grandma First-Name and great-grandparents were big grandma & big grandpa.

I call my parents mom and dad. When my grandparents were alive I called them Granny FirstName and Grandpa FirstName.

Our son calls us mom and dad and has since he was 7 or so and decided mommy and daddy was too babyish.

My mother tried to get him to call her Granny but from the start he decided he wanted to call her Grandma. He calls my dad Grandpa and when we still spoke to my dad's wife, the StepMonster, he called her Mimi.

He calls my FIL Grandpa LastName and the few times he has seen my MIL he called her GG. She lives 4500km away so we don't see her a lot and our last name starts with the letter G so she is GrandmaG or GG for short.

Mom and Dad. Later I nicknamed my dad "Junior." My grandparents were Grandma & Grandpa but if we were referring to them my dad's parents were Grandma & Grandpa (last name)
My oldest son called my parents Memaw & PawPaw. We started out calling her Grammy but he only called her "Muh" for the longest time then one day just called her Memaw all on his own. She loved it & it stuck. Even though my brother swore his kids wouldn't call her a hillbilly name, and tried really hard to get them to call her Grandma, they followed my son's lead and she was Memaw lol. My son called his dad's parents Grandma & Grandpa.
My youngest have a Grandma. They also call my husband's oldest sister and her husband Grandma & Papa. We have nieces and nephew that are only about 10 years younger than us with kids the same age as ours, so our kids just adopted the names they called them. My brother-in-law LOVES that they call him Papa

I called my parents Mom and Dad. My kids call DH and I mom and Dad.

I called my maternal grandparents Grandma/Grandpa Z (initial of last name), great grandparents were same, but last name started with a D, and i used their whole last name for my paternal grandparents.

My kids call my mother Grandma with Chris, her husband is Willy the Walrus (he hates all of us and he does look like a walrus, so it's fitting lol) My dad is Grandpa with Joanne, or "the grandpa that looks like santa" lol

They call MIL Grandma-ma, and FIL and his wife are Papa and Nana.

Before she passed aaway, they called my Grandma Z, Grandma Zwiski, because they couldn't remember her whole name and that was as close as they got lol

They also still have great grandma V (my dad's mother)who is still alive, but they have never met her so they don't call her anything except "Grandpa with Joannes mom" or "your dad's mom" when referring to her to me.
