Stayed at a hotel that had white comforters. In order to keep those clean from people sitting at the end of the bed or placing luggage on it, they had a decorative sash of fabric placed at the foot of the bed. It was not a folded blanket. Just a 2.5 - 3 ft wide sash of decorative fabric that ran from side to side.
